Keen Owl est un projet numérique lancé en 2015 par un jeune producteur néerlandais qui a fait ses débuts en Dordogne (France). Au fil des années, il a eu l'occasion de jouer sur  divers soundsystems locaux : KN2S Kaya Natural Soundsystem, ADS Alternative Dub Soundsystem, SSF Sage Sound Family Soundsystem, RDS Soundsystem et a participé à divers événements tels que le Dub is Dub (33), Steppers United (24), Marmelade Party (23), Dub Party by Lucane Music (33 ) ou encore le Hemp420 Festival Digital Edition !

Régis Messac, écrivain français et militant pacifiste adepte de l'action non-violente, donne en 1936 dans sa revue Les Primaires cette définition de l’uchronie : « Terre inconnue, située à côté ou en dehors du temps, découverte par le philosophe Renouvier, et où sont relégués, comme des vieilles lunes, les événements qui auraient pu arriver, mais ne sont pas arrivés » !

La production du titre 'Uchronia' par Keen Owl est l'aboutissement de ses aventures Bordelaises en vogue avec le Kaya Natural Soundsystem... Ses prochains sons seront sans aucun doute plus organiques, s'étant installé loin de la ville, aux milieux des chênes et des hiboux... Une autre vie, un autre temps !

The producer Keen Owl is one of the most French Dubmaker in the Netherlands. He has just signed on the Culture Dub Records the tune ‘Uchronia' and its version 'Dubchronia’. Keen Owl is a digital project launched in 2015 by a young Dutch producer who made his beginings in Dordogne (France). Over the years, he had the opportunity to play on various local soundsystems: KN2S Kaya Natural Soundsystem, ADS Alternative Dub Soundsystem, SSF Sage Sound Family Soundsystem, RDS Soundsystem and participated in various events such as Dub is Dub (33), Steppers United (24), Marmelade Party (23), Dub Party by Lucane Music (33) or the Hemp420 Festival Digital Edition!

Régis Messac is a French writer and pacifist militant who follows non-violent action. In 1936, he gave in his magazine Les Primaires this definition of uchronia: "Unknown land, located beside or outside of time, discovered by the philosopher Renouvier, and where are relegated, like old moons, the events that could have happened, but did not happen”!

The production of the track 'Uchronia' by Keen Owl is the culmination of his fashionable adventures in Bordeaux  with the Kaya Natural Soundsystem... His next sounds will undoubtedly be more organic, having settled far from the city, in the middle of oaks and owls... Another life, another time!

Créé en 2016, au pied du massif du Garlaban par deux cousins Julien et Paco, rejoints par Adrien, Garladub est un sound system d’Aubagne (13). Sa sono homemade, composée de 4 scoops et sa large sélection de vinyles allant du roots au dub fera assurément danser les skankers en sound system. À l’instar de cette superbe sélection exclusive de 21 big tunes, le sound system est majoritairement influencé par la musique jamaïquaine et le dub UK. Run it & play it loud !

Reggae Roast today release their eagerly awaited debut album ‘Turn Up The Heat’ via Trojan Records newest label imprint Trojan Reloaded. The release of ‘Turn Up The Heat’ marks a new era for reggae through reimagining the roots of the sound in a way that makes it accessible for the streaming era. Listen to ‘Turn Up The Heat’, here. 

The album follows a series of singles which have been released off the record in the form of ‘Never B4’ featuring Mr Williamz, ‘Do It Again’ featuring Horseman and Natty Campbell as well as the most recent drop ‘Good Love’ alongside the inimitable General Levy. 

Having become a mainstay in the reggae scene, the album features an array of incredible artists all of whom are long time friends and collaborators of Reggae Roast which collectively creates a sound that has so much musical variation all whilst simultaneously marrying together to form a body of work and bold array of sounds all of which fuse together seamlessly.

A music collective that continues to push boundaries whilst simultaneously keeping the spirit of the genre alive, ‘Turn Up The Heat’ exemplifies Reggae Roast’s skilled musical craftsmanship in working with both new-gen artists and legends from the scene to create a sound that is both new and classic.

During such trying times, ‘Turn Up The Heat’ brings a burst of sunshine through its tropical reggae sounds underpinned by beats that encompass real reggae grit. With reggae often lauded for its music boasting such positivity and optimism, the new album is destined to add warmth to people’s playlists and radio waves marking the start of summer.

Reggae Roast is a sound system collective based in London. They have been running events at venues and festivals across the UK for over a decade and built their custom built sound system in 2015, in order to bring the sound to the people. Along the way partnering with an array of incredible talent the album is a collaboration project featuring some of their favourite artists.

Reggae Roast, one of the UKs leading Reggae Soundsystems & party starters, have forged a reputation as the leading light in the resurgence of the British Reggae, putting on some of the best parties and festival stages across the country. Having recently signed to the world famous Trojan Records they are at the forefront of the UK Reggae and Bass Music scene.

Reggae Roast’s first release on Trojan, went straight in at #1 on the Juno Reggae charts, while getting good radio support from the likes of David Rodigan (1 Xtra) and Ras Kwarme (Capitol Xtra) and Don Letts (6 Music), while their follow up single ‘Real Reggae Music’ featuring the legendary Tippa Irie, was included in the Trojan Records 50th Anniversary box set, selling thousands of copies. 

2019 will see them pick up were they left off with releases on Trojan Reloaded featuring  General Levy, Rankin Joe, Mr Williamz, Burro Banton, Charlie P and many more.

In 2015 Reggae Roast built their own custom Soundsystem pushing the boundaries of soundsystem aesthetics, taking soundsystem design into the 21st century. Their soundsystem remains the cornerstone of their events and with it they have run stages at prestigious festivals such as Glastonbury, Outlook Festival (Croatia), Secret Garden Party, Eastern Electric, Boomtown, Telerama Dub Festival (France) and many more. 

At their events they have hosted some of the biggest names in Reggae including  Horace Andy, The Wailers, Lee Scratch Perry, Sly and Robbie, Collie Budz, Mad Professor, David Rodigan, Suggs (Madness), Channel One, Trojan Sound, Gappy Ranks, Finley Quaye, Aba Shanti I, Mungo’s Hi Fi and many many more. 

Reggae Roast have built a strong fanbase over the years with nearly 200,000 social media followers. They have racked up over 8 million plays on Soundcloud alone and their monthly podcasts receives 10s of thousands of plays. They have played all over the world from India and Thailand to the UK and back. This year they were personally asked by Shy FX and Chase & Status to play at their events.

Reggae Roast are dedicated to bringing reggae and soundsystem culture to a new generation and are steadily building a formidable catalogue of releases and achievements.
