Comment se passe un chantier de fouilles archéologique en pleine forêt de Rambouillet ?

En 2021 j’ai été contactée par Matthias Bellat et Etienne Courné pour venir passer une journée sur le site des Moulineaux, un petit chantier de fouilles archéologiques qu’ils coordonnent, quelque part dans la forêt de Rambouillet dans le département des Yvelines. 

Dans cet épisode nous allons vous raconter l’histoire de ce lieu, en quoi il est intéressant de l’étudier et le fouiller, vous donner un aperçu de comment on travaille en archéologie, et vous faire rencontrer plein de personnes fort sympathiques !

WAHP! WAHP! This is an emergency broadcast from the Regular Feautures emergency storm bunker. Hello. How are you? Oh that's nice. We're fine thanks, but unfortunately... it is a major emergency!!

Storm Eunice has really churned our butter this week, if you'll pardon the phrase, forcing us to seek shelter in our specialised, reinforced podcasting hutch three hundred feet below sea level. In the panic to get inside, three of the boys tragically got left behind and/or tragically kicked in the shins so me and Log could get a head start, meaning it's just the two of us down here. We will not apologise.

From our subterranean lair, Log brings you feaures of dreams and USB cables, while Steve brings you features of USB cables and cowboys. Be safe out there xxx

Disquiet Junto Project 0552: The Radio in My Life
The Assignment: Record music in response to a John Cage and Morton Feldman conversation.

This was fun. I thought about intrusions. Mostly it's the loud street in front of my window and kids running in the flat above mine and people shouting at Siri, Alexa and OKgoogle in the backyard.

I checked my field recordings and there it was: the f… church bells. A bad ambient track, repeated relentlessly every sunday, never changing, a transcendent single-track playlist … 

I threw the field recoding of the bells into deCoda, and it calculated Aminor and 84bpm. I started a track from scratch with these parameters and improvised some beats and pads. The idea was to have a peaceful ambient track … that could be disturbed by acoustic intrusion of the church bells. 

The track seemed finished when I read the algorithm again and listened to the Cage-Feldman-Talk. I liked the pure oddity of the first minutes, so I added some parts of the beginning, accepting that this will draw focus to the conversation, so I didn't care that you don't understand much. 

Next sunday at seven, they will play my track …
