It took me a while after having moved to another country and a change in my personal life to find the inspiration and consistent workflow again. I am getting closer and closer and part of the consistency was creating this podcast for you. The first track I have loved for many years now and always wanted to do something with it, thanks Francesca for sharing the original with me. I finally felt inspired to grab it and give it some AC flavour. It's always a proces to create a journey with musical tracks, where I am trying to bring that timelessness, balance and surprise in there. It's probably the same proces as writing a book. 2023 continues at pace as we head to northern Catalonia to welcome Enai for his Atlant debut. The Girona resident has steadily been clocking up releases for the likes of Oddity, Running Clouds and Eklektisch. Now Enai delivers three spellbinding originals.

Leading the way is 'This Is A Dream' which showcases Enai's eclecticism and originality as an artist. Fusing melodic synth driven techno with rave friendly celestial vocals, hard edged dynamics and dance-floor focused dynamics - this one has it all.

'Ira' delves further into Enai's production bag of tricks to create a beautiful indie influenced gem that brings to mind the pioneering work of Rufus Du Sol with its catchy hook. We can see this one hitting many a Spotify playlist as well as being a defining moment in the club.

'Aneris' rounds the EP off nicely and is one of those tracks DJs will love with its off kilter synth line, flowing melodies, crisp beats and driving dance groove. A fine way to close, making the listener want more.

PREMIERE: Enai - Ira (Original Mix) [Atlant]

With six in six on Rejected Steve Bug is, what you might call, firmly part of the family. As is his regular sparring partner Cle. However, for the first of '23, the Berlin-based producer flies solo on two excellent late night, heavy-hitting, groovers.

Whilst describing the movements and sounds of the opening track to perfection, 'Grumble Bumble', is also a title that can deceive. There are no tired, ageing shapes being thrown to this mid noughties Pokerflat'esque soundtrack. Strobe light at the ready. Sweat on the walls, the warehouse is calling.

Beautifully countering the heads down stripped-back bounce of the A side, is the percussive and uplifting funk of 'Get Away From Me'. Skipping along on jazzy rides and rim-shots, its menacing chords are pierced by synth stabs, claps and a silky vocal, to create a track that balances power and poise to perfection.

Following on from No Faith, No Dreams in August 2024 Steve Bug & Hervé Solar team up once again for their new EP Lift Off, presenting three tasty tracks of deep, techy house music on Sublease. 

Lift Off is a tricky groover with lush pads and dubby effects, building into something that may be heard across a wide range of dancefloors. 

Unfussy brings a more heads down approach, with bubbling bass and propulsive rhythm section creating the mood. 

Eventualities rounds off the EP with deep house chords, a funky bassline and dubby, acid tinged synths and FX.

Steve Bug reappears on his iconic Poker Flat imprint, sharing production duties with longtime collaborator Huxley once more. 

Come On is a tight, old-skool referencing house track built around a ravey vocal sample, a classic chord progression and tight, funky drum programming. 

Clearly deeply infatuated with the early days of US house, the original is all vibe. 

UK based house producer CASSIMM contributes a remix, that leans into the old skool vibe but adds layers that are more techier and driving.  


The shimmering synth stabs and effects add a new dimension to the track - a more streamlined and minimal aesthetic.
