Anyone who has had even half an eye on the electro scene over the past decade will already be familiar with Emile Facey aka Plant43's unique sound, mixing an uncompromising approach to off kilter rhythms and machine-led funk with an emotive and powerful use of melody. Remote Signals' is led by a booming kick drum heavy enough to command any audience with Facey weaving ever more complex webs of melody around it. 'Searching The Skies' builds a mysterious atmosphere based around a call and response between characterful melodic elements while 'Constantly Morphing Entity' closes the EP with a flourish of forward moving beats and an SH101 bass line designed to move any dancefloor.

Philoxenia Records, the label run by Luigi Di Venere and Neu Verboten, is proud to present a new addition to its ever growing catalogue. Last Place On Earth is the name of this new EP produced by Vilnius based Dovydas Platakis aka Jokios Kultūros. 
The EP highlights Jokios Kultūros’ distinctive fusion of avant-garde atmospheres and pioneering production methods, presenting a dystopian sonic landscape infused with elements of manga-inspired cyberpunk.
Each track serves as a portal into a world where technological advancements intertwine with societal decay, echoing the themes of classic cyberpunk literature and manga. 
Audrey Danza and label bosses Luigi Di Venere and Neu Verboten, operating under their Affekt Unit alias, take on remix duties for Last Place On Earth, the title track of this EP.
Danza’s interpretation epitomizes Trance music at its finest, injecting a luminous energy into the dystopian darkness. Affekt Unit’s translation centres on the drums, seamlessly melding elements of tribal techno and garage house.

Kuba Sojka’s ‘Before Life’ EP on Rekids Special Projects (RSPX) starts with 'Fundamental Structures', a superb blend of futuristic moods, warped bass, and precision drums with spiritually minded melodies swirling around its lurching groove. 'Imago' is then a lithe, colourful cut with bubbling low ends and tripped-out synth motifs next to organic percussion, making for a beautiful mental excursion that journeys into deep space before 'Metamorphis' explores ambient-laced drum & bass. Closing out Sojka’s ‘Before Life’ EP is the superb 'Void of Self' completing this varied EP with an elastic deep house groove topped with dry hits and
sugar synth work.

Kuba Sojka is a live performer, musician, and producer who draws on funk, jazz, and soul sounds. He brings an experimental edge to his music and has explored IDM, electro, future jazz, and acid under his Kuba Sojka and Psi-Acoustic projects. He has landed on labels like Mathematics, Matrix Records, International Day Off Records, and Radio Slave’s RSPX, on which he released his ‘Life’ EP in April 2024, which won support from Ben Sims, Carista, Laurent Garnier, and Elisa Bee.

Having kicked off the year debuting a new audio-visual performance, enduring techno outfit Octave One announce new music for 2019, with a series of EP’s entitled ‘Locus of Control’. Featuring many unreleased nuggets, the series will feature unreleased tracks which were tried and tested at a recent Valencia Boiler Room set.

The term ‘Locus of Control’ is a psychological concept that refers to how strongly people believe they have control over the situations and experiences that affect their lives.

“Musically we are exploring the ‘power or powerlessness people feel over the things that shape their world’.” State the Brothers.

Side One kicks off with ‘Lies In Truth’, euphoric piano meets melodic stabs layered with feel good crescendos and a positive uplifting baseline. Intelligent synth builds and layers making for a super strong lead track. Followed by Injection (String Free edit) with an intensifying and pulsing rib rattling bass.

Side Two features the full version of ‘Injection’. The thundering bass takes you on a journey of transcending arpeggios, developing progressions and meandering melodies making the track a peak time cut.
