For my guestmix, the idea was to encapsulate leaving the club for the last time, back in Feb 2020, the following year and a bit of difficult times but also some glimmers of goodness, and then hopefully returning to the dance this year. It's got a bit of an eerie vibe, as I was imagining music playing to nobody in empty nightclubs around the world...

Julian Determan, aka Mata Disk, is a DJ based in Rotterdam. After leaving behind his former aliases, he has embraced a distinctive sound that blends contemporary club music with ambient and atmospheric elements. Mata Disk’s music celebrates the experimental and boundary-pushing edges of the electronic music.

With two outstanding EPs —"Surrounder" and "Two Sides of the Same Coin" — both released on Nous’Klaer Audio, and a remarkable live performance at Draaimolen Festival, he continues to gain recognition for his immersive and forward-thinking approach to shaping sonic landscapes.

His latest release appears on the Tanctual compilation ilinx play, contributing the track “Zone In”,  part of a collection of cutting-edge, club-functional tracks that flirt with sonic vertigo.

DJ Gutta (@leo-casey-waby) is a young kiwi DJ and music fanatic, he was born in Wellington and is now based in central Auckland.

Through internet trawling, record store excavation, endless listening and mind altered clubbing escapades, DJ Gutta finds himself magnetised to heavy dance music styles, he likes to play them loud and sometimes craft his own. He is part of the force behind AKL club nights Hard ‘n’ Fast Joints, Ultra Sound and States of Mind, and shares records on his weekly radio show; or wherever weird, funky sounds are welcomed.

@zozo_no_doz is a wellington-based DJ/musician/event promoter. They’ve played club nights such as MESH, Ultrasound, Racquet Club and Vertigo, and hosted shows on Salient FM and RadioActive. Originally organising their own club nights under the CLUBHAUS name, they aim to create safer, more inclusive spaces for playful + hectic dance music. They’ve also produced a new track titled ‘girlboss speedrun’ as part of the first acoldplace label compilation, which was released on Friday.
