I have a friend who get troublesleeping without the sound of an electric fan, similar to me who can't get to sleep when there's a clock ticking. So, I decided to record my old Sanyo fan with a pencil condenser mic.

To get some realistic result, better play it on a full range compo/speakers.

Soundtrack of a passing thunderstorm with underlying brown noise(not to be confused with the mythical brown note) which has a soothing effect on your mind and might help you loosen up, handle stress better, make your tinnitus more bearable and help you fall asleep faster and have a better nights sleep.

The storm starts in the distant, comes closer, peaks around the middle of the track and moves slowly away.

All sounds are from various CC(Creative Commons) licensed clips from around the web except for the brown noise which I generated myself. I haven't counted how many different sound files I've used, but there's definitely over 20 different clips. I've cut, trimmed, mixed, corrected.. hell, I've done all sorts of things to make it sound like a real thunderstorm.
