Powerful Mind Hack for Deep Sleep (75 Minutes)

Monday, 25th June, 2012. 

A thunder storm was predicted, so I set up my Telinga SSM and Olympus LS-100 recorder just inside a screened door. I set the recording level low, but even so the nearest lightning strikes (about 100 feet away) completely overwhelmed the system.

The recording begins while the storm is still about ten minutes away....

There are several phases - first, there is distant thunder as the wind begins to strengthen. Then the thunder gets nearer and the rain begins. Next, the storm literally moves overhead, with several strikes within a few hundred feet of the house.

This is followed by hail, and then more wind and rain, as the storm slowly recedes to the east.

One of the reasons I love white noise is because nature is full of white noise sounds, from waterfalls to rain to ocean waves. One of my favorite white noise ambiences is the gentle sound of wind blowing in the leaves. It's a perfect background sound to block out the world and help you with falling asleep, remaining sleeping or for tasks that require focus such as working, studying, reading, writing or doing homework. The peaceful wind sound rises and falls, never static, always bringing with it a gentle motion. It's also great for stress relief, meditation, soothing a baby or just relaxing after a long day at work or school. I hope you too find a sense of calm as you listen to the summer breeze rustling the leaves.
