Opening the new year in style, Nikko.Z's Dopamine White presents a new collaboration from Bojan B and Hobin Rude. Hailing from Serbia, both Bojan and Hobin have achieved measurable success in their respective solo careers. With his first release coming just over a decade ago, Belgrade resident Bojan B has built an impressive resume highlighted by releases via Capital Heaven, ICONYC Noir, One Of A Kind and more. Meanwhile, fellow countryman Hobin Rude first emerged in 2020 with a remix for Jelly For The Babies One Of A Kind imprint. His progressive sounds quickly found favour with the genre's premiere tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, eventually leading to releases via Hoomidaas, Plattenbank, The Soundgarden and Sound Avenue. Also an established DJ, the Belgrade resident has the distinction of performing with elite international talents Guy J, Roy Rosenfeld, Tim Green, Volen Sentir and more. Having previously collaborated on projects for AMITABHA and Modern Agenda, Bojan and Hobin combine their extensive forces once again for Dopamine White with 'Apicem', alongside remixes from David Podhel and Jab Vix.

Continuing to build on their creative synergy, Bojan and Hobin craft a timeless slice of progressive house that is 'Apicem'. Warm, punchy grooves anchor the journey while layers of expertly manicured percussion, percolating synth lines and reflective atmospheres add bounce and emotion leading into the break. Advancing further across the interlude, the duo unveils a poignant piano-like lead, elevating mood against a backdrop of shapeshifting textures, eventually peaking with prismatic colours as the groove drops for a thunderous finale.

The first interpretation of 'Apicem' is provided by David Podhel who makes his label debut. Hailing from Mexico, David Podhel first emerged a decade ago with a series of releases for Nicholas Van Orton's BCSA. His timeless progressive sound quickly caught the attention of the genre's diehard fanbase, leading to future projects for Deepwibe Underground, Droid9, Mango Alley and more. Now, continuing what has been a prolific year, David makes his Dopamine White debut with a groovy take on 'Apicem'. Beginning with a buoyant kick and galloping groove, the Mexican artist channels the electric energy of the original through striking chord stabs and percolating synth lines, before a break of warm bass swells and timeless melodica setup a thumping finale.

The release concludes with Jab Vix also making his label debut with the second and final interpretation of 'Apicem'. Hailing from Colombia, Javier Gamero aka Jab Vix first emerged in 2017 with releases via Emergent Shores and Encanta. The next half decade has seen the Cartagena resident refine his style, incorporating Latin percussion and European motifs into his melodic progressive sound. This evolution has seen Javier land key projects on Droid9, Nature Rec and his own Oz Land imprint. Now, following a remix of Kamilo Sanclemente's 'Final Scene', Jab Vix makes his Dopamine White debut with a melodic take on 'Apicem'. Built around a thumping percussive framework, the Colombian artist focuses on rhythm and groove across the first act, nicely balanced with a healthy dose of atmospheric phrasing. Operating primarily as a dub version, a sequence of two second act breaks builds tension through prophetic harmonics and techno minded sensibilities, as modulation peaks for a fiery main room finale.

Clubsonica Records opens the summer season by welcoming Juan Sapia back to the label for a new EP. Hailing from the progressive house hotbed of Argentina, Juan Sapia has enjoyed a steady rise since first emerging in 2017. As a favourite of progressive music tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, the Buenos Aires resident has compiled an impressive resume, landing releases on top tier imprints such as EDGE, Mango Alley, Or Two Strangers, Sudbeat Music, and The Soundgarden. Now, following an EP for Argentina's pad records to begin the year, Juan makes a welcome return to the label with 'Aura | Forest Song', alongside remixes from Paul Deep and Leo Guerrero. 

As the progressive grooves and swaying rhythms of opener ‘Aura' unfold, it's clear that Juan's craft must be taken to heart. Renowned for his trance-inspired melodies, the Buenos Aires resident opts for a deeper approach here, working placid pads over dulcet grooves and dusty percussive arrangements. Building patiently across the first movement, its creamy tones and heartfelt harmonies marry beautifully during a transcendent break, before layers of wind-swept sonics cue a gorgeous drop and glowing finale. Beneath the calming waves of ‘Aura' lies a tastefully melodic production entitled ‘Forest Song'. Evoking a confident club energy from the start, Juan's colourful sonics, emotionally resonant hooks and nostalgic melodies blanket a tight yet groovy framework. With an infectious energy that could win over even the most discerning of fans, it's a journey that becomes unabashedly epic at its peak, as melodies unite in a whirlpool of textural bliss, making for a sure fire dance floor weapon.

Returning to the label for the lone interpretation of ‘Aura' is Paul Deep. With a career that spans the better part of a decade, the Argentinean artist has compiled an impressive resume along the way, landing releases via All Day I Dream, Tale & Tone, The Soundgarden and Sudbeat. World class DJs Lee Burridge, Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren have all been steadfast supporters of Paul's sound. With his year being highlighted by an EP for Dmitry Molosh's Proportion imprint, Paul now makes a welcome return to Clubsonica with a stellar rendition of ‘Aura'. Focusing on a slightly darker monochrome, the Buenos Aires resident goes deep and techy for what results in a heady nine-minute journey. Rebounding rhythms and deep chugging basslines set the course for snatches of flickering percussion and growling stabs. Looking to bring a greater emotional response, the main break shifts the narrative through heartfelt chord changes and trance-inducing melodies, before a wave of white noise perfectly sets up a stripped back drop and meditative finale. 

The release concludes with Leo Guerrero making his label debut with the lone interpretation of ‘Forest Song'. Hailing from Colombia, new  inspirations led Leo to progressive music where he restarted his production journey under his own name, while finding a home on Antrim's Strangers Beats and D-Nox's Sprout. Continuing on this explorative path, the Medellin resident now adds Clubsonica to his resume with a powerful take on ‘Forest Song'. Beginning with a buoyant kick and galloping groove, the Colombian artist channels the melodic energy of the original through panoramic synths and percolating arps, before a deconstructed take on the main musical theme emerges across the break, perfectly setting up a thrilling peak-time finale. A gorgeous interpretation from Leo, which rounds out a must have return to Clubsonica for Juan Sapia, an artist who continues to stand out in Argentina's progressive house landscape.
