Madloch's Sound Avenue rounds out the month of July by welcoming Forty Cats back to the label for her debut EP. With well over a decade's worth of DJ experience, Russian artist Christina Gavrilova aka Forty Cats has been a fixture of her country's nightlife, sharing the stage with Jody Wisternoff, Nick Warren, Yotto, Dave Seaman and more. Christina's production debut landed three years ago via 8bit Music, and in relatively short order the Russian artist has gone on to release projects via Lane 8's This Never Happened, Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music and Mango Alley. Also finding a home on Sound Avenue, Forty Cats opened the year with a remix of ‘Dreaming Home' by Eric Lune, before going on to re-imagine Nopi's ‘Hookan Idyll' a few short months later. Now as we enter the year's third quarter, Forty Cats returns to Sound Avenue with her first EP project entitled ‘Forest Beast', alongside remixes from Berni Turletti and Weird Sounding Dude.

The second and final interpretation of ‘Forest Beast' is provided by Weird Sounding Dude who returns to the label for his second appearance. Based in Bangalore, the Indian artist is now considered one of his country's most beloved progressive house producers. As a favourite of the genre's premiere tastemakers, Weird Sounding Dude has compiled an impressive discography with standout releases via Anjunadeep, Hoomidaas, The Soundgarden and Sudbeat Music, while receiving play and support from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy J. Having made his Sound Avenue debut last year with a remix of ‘Union Eterna' by Matias Vila, Weird Sounding Dude now makes a welcome return to the label with an equally impressive take on ‘Forest Beast'. The Bangalore resident's relentless curiosity for rhythmic and harmonic experimentation basks in progressive radiance here, as a delirious blur of hook heavy synths, shadowy vocal fragments and wavy arps emerge from a bed of pulsating beats and voluptuous basslines. Its eager optimism peaks across a one-minute interlude, collapsing under its gravity as modulation rises onwards to a thumping drop and hypno-fuelled finale.

As we edge closer to the monumental 100th release, we proudly unveil ODST092, featuring the unmistakable sound of Will DeKeizer. Known for his intricate, melodic productions, Will returns to us after the success of his “Sapphire” EP earlier in 2023. His latest offering, “Moon Spirit / 2000 B.C.”, marks his continued evolution within the progressive house scene and is the third-last release of the year.

Will’s previous releases with onedotsixtwo, including “Sapphire”, have earned support from progressive house giants such as Hernán Cattáneo, Nick Warren, and Guy J, among others. “Moon Spirit” showcases Will’s infectious, intelligent low-end grit, well-crafted melodies, and hypnotic rhythms, creating an emotive journey that is sure to resonate with both fans and DJs alike.

First up on remix duties is the ever-impressive NOIYSE PROJECT, a prolific producer whose releases on Sudbeat and The Soundgarden have made waves across the underground scene. His take on “Moon Spirit” delivers a peak-time interpretation, driven by cleverly crafted percussion while retaining the essence of Will’s original.

On the flip side, “2000 B.C.” is a more driving, tech-laden affair, perfect for late-night sets. Dutch legend Roger Martinez steps in with a remix that pushes the track into even more ethereal, otherworldly territories. We’re thrilled to welcome Roger back to the label, known for his collaborations with Secret Cinema and regular support from Guy J and John Digweed. Martinez’s remix brings his signature deep, transcendental touch with that magical ‘je ne sais quoi’ only he can deliver.

This EP is a pivotal release as we march towards our 100th onedotsixtwo milestone, representing the very best of progressive house. ODST092 will be available soon, rounding out another exceptional year for the label.

ShemoW is a passionate DJ and music producer driven by a deep connection to sound and spirituality. As a member of the #HOKKEKO community and a practitioner of Nichiren Shoshu Buddhism, spiritual practice plays a vital role in shaping both artistic expression and personal balance.

The journey into music production began in 2016, inspired by the 2015 Ultra Music Festival After Movie trailer. What started as curiosity soon turned into a creative pursuit, first with FL Studio and later evolving into a more advanced workflow with Ableton Live. The debut track, "Rou-He," marked the start of an ongoing exploration into sound design, storytelling, and emotional depth through music.

As the creator and host of the #Fly_Nature podcast, ShemoW explores the intricate landscapes of deep house, organic house, melodic house, and progressive house. Each episode is a carefully crafted experience, blending rhythmic energy with the organic essence of nature to guide listeners on an introspective and soulful journey.

Whether performing live or producing in the studio, the mission remains the same: to uplift, connect, and inspire through the universal power of music.
