We're excited to welcome back Tantum, aka Thomas Koch, back to Juicebox Music with his single "Korner" as our 65th release. Tantum made his debut with us in the beginning of 2019 with a 3-track EP and further cemented his association with a remix of Eric Lune's "Tantra" & another EP in mid-2020. The German artist, now based in Berlin, quickly grabbed the attention of well renowned labels from the get-go, namely Jonas Saalbach's 'Radikon' & Super Flu's 'Monaberry'. Hot off the press with his 3rd EP on Guy J's 'Lost & Found', Tantum serves up his latest offering titled "Korner", a deep yet powerfully driven track that ticks off all the check-boxes that define his much revered signature sound as well as exploring a wider sonic palette.

Making his much revered return to the imprint is Sri Lanka's very own Subandrio. An absolute master at his craft with an unmistakable sound, Subandrio's faithful following isn't just limited to his home country but touches every progressive house fan around the world. His powerful productions have found their way home to Hernan Cattaneo's 'Sudbeat', Cid Inc's 'Replug' & many others. His last association with us was "Bounties from Within", an ambient contribution to Chapter 2 of our 'Tales of Time' compilation. Subandrio continued to stretch out into the electronica space with an EP on Sahar Z & Guy J's downtempo imprint 'Armadillo Records'. Subandrio's take on Tantum's "Korner" maintains the tone of the original while turning it a little darker with a bit of an ethnic-inspired twist during the breakdown.

Beloved for their combination of groove and melody, NuFects return to Clubsonica for their much-anticipated debut EP. Conceptualized in 2013, Colombian artists Alejo Cortes and Carlos Lopez aka NuFects decided to undertake a project full of energy, joy, colour and intrigue. They started producing progressive and organic house under the name NuFects, quickly earning recognition from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Cid Inc, along with very important local talents Dabeat, Gux Jimenez and Kamilo Sanclemente. Also finding a place in the more melodic uptempo realms of the genre, legends Paul Oakenfold and Solarstone became NuFects supporters, playlisting their music and making the duo a legit crossover act. Having made their Clubsonica debut in 2013 with a remix of 'The Red Knot' by Symmetry Obs, Nufects now makes a welcome return to the label for their debut EP 'Wild | Sordina', alongside remixes from Juan Deminicis and Sebastian Sellares.

Returning to the label and providing the lone interpretation of 'Wild' is Juan Deminicis. As a favourite of progressive music's top tastemakers in Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy J, the Argentinean artist has released on some of the genre's finest imprints over the course of his now fifteen year career. Hoomidas, Lost and Found, Replug, Souksonic and Sudbeat Music have all been regular landing spots for the talented Buenos Aires resident. Also a highly regarded DJ, Juan has programmed music for some of his country's trendiest venues, in turn sharing the stage with 16 Bit Lolitas, D-Nox, Guy J, Guy Mantzur, Jody Wisternoff and Roy Rosenfeld. With three remixes for the label across the last five calendar years, Juan makes a welcome return to Clubsonica, taking 'Wild' into deeper territory. Rather than burst into a dancefloor whirlwind or electronic symphony, Juan's interpretation evokes its emotions through slow burn repetition, dodging expectations and emphasizing its conceptual charm, painting idyllic scenes of solitude, as hypnagogic motifs unveil a semi-conscious dreamland, before the Argentine's progressive attitude reveals itself during a second act of driving grooves, haunting atmospheres and cosmic effects.

Ruben Karapetyan’s RKP imprint arrives in exciting fashion with a much anticipated single from the label boss himself. Born in Armenia but now calling Los Angeles home, Ruben Karapetyan has carved out a unique place in the electronic underground. His emotive synth leads, cross-cultural motifs and tough, dancefloor minded grooves have made for a resonant worldly sound that is all his own. Following a ten-year hiatus, Ruban made a triumphant return to electronic music in 2020 with a series of the releases via Mango Alley, Movement Recordings, The Soundgarden and Univack. On the strength of his fresh, progressive sound Ruben quickly earned praise from the genre’s trendsetters in Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, while also becoming a regular in Beatport’s competitive sales charts. Now, as one of the genre’s most in demand talents, Ruben launches his RKP imprint with ‘Nostalgic Recall’, alongside remixes from Michael A and Hobin Rude.

As a much requested track from Ruben’s recent sets, 'Nostalgic Recall’ finds the Los Angeles resident at his creative best. Instantly seductive, its contoured grooves, flashing percussive arrangements and dubbed out chord stabs drive each other into a whirlpool of spiraling directions, making for a flexible club track that bends between moods, while injecting vibrant energy into the dancefloor. Nature Rec rounds out a strong spring season by welcoming Valeria Petz to the label for her debut EP. On strength of early tracks like 'The King' and 'Shooting Star', Argentinean Dj and producer Valeria Petz made a name for herself as an emerging artist to watch. In finding a nice balance between progressive and organic house, the Buenos Aires resident would record projects for 3rd Avenue, Omnia and Soundteller Records, before eventually finding a place on Nick Warren's The Soundgarden as part of the labels popular Winter Collection series in 2022. Now, adding Nature Rec to her resume, Valeria debuts on the label with 'Meraki', alongside remixes from Arbey Gonzalez and Dabeat.

Beginning the release is the title track and it lands with quite a bit of fanfare already. Hernan Cattaneo has been one of the track's biggest supporters leading up to the release, including the track in his live sets (most notably Forja) as well as featuring it on his Resident Podcast. It's not hard to see why Hernan has been such a great supporter with it's warm flowing grooves and balmy textures being so inviting from the outset. Sentimental synth phrasing and a wondrously musical break sit at the heart of the production, and ultimately makes for a hugely memorable journey that will resonate on a wide range of dancefloors. Meanwhile, on the companion piece 'Destino' Valeria continues with an emotive vibe as gorgeous arpeggiated sequences blanket chugging grooves and vibrant percussion, resulting in a perfect midset style track to lift the mood of a room. 

Also included on the release are remixes from two of Colombia's top talents in Arbey Gonzalez and Dabeat. First up Arbey delivers a stunning interpretation of 'Meraki', giving the track a bit more of an organic vibe. The Santiago de Cali resident utilizes youthful sounding chord changes, buzzing tonal themes and a sturdy percussive framework which makes for a dreamier yet equally groovy version of the track which sounds nicely suited to a daytime dancefloor. 

Closing out the release is veteran producer Dabeat who provides an equally impressive version of 'Destino'. Also calling Santiago de Cali home, DaBeat reworks the groove into something more pronounced with it's tougher character and punchy beats, while those dreamy arps provide a serene ever-growing atmospheric storyboard to get lost in. Classy stuff from DaBeat which caps off an excellent Nature Rec debut for Valeria Petz, an artist to keep an eye on as 2023 moves forward. Highly recommended.

'EsQadar' sees Dr Green returning to his home label SLC-6 Music, this time joining forces with German producer Moodfreak, to reimagine his solo endeavor 'Qadar.'  The duo add layers of synths and effects to the already grooving organic percussion taking the track in a darker direction.  Fellow Sri Lankans Rockka and Dimel De Silva are on remix duties delivering progressive renditions in the style that has become synonymous with the South Asian island country.
