Latest Premieres Week 39

2023 has been a great year for Bradley Hutchings aka Guava. Alongside many successful dance singles and remixes, his self-released debut album ‘Out Of Nowhere’ is a gorgeous blend of indie electronica that steps away from his typical club focussed productions. 2024, however, sees Guava move back towards the dancefloor with his latest EP Afterglow, which drops on Faux Poly on March 8th. Since rooting himself in Berlin, Guava has drawn inspiration from across the different facets of the city, something that is strongly reflected in this release.

‘140 Drums’ is an essential DJ club tool, a chopped stuttering break and hoover bass roll through a restrained but surprisingly heavy hitting finale to the EP.

"Putting together this EP has been a joy for me. All of the tracks are little bookmarks for the past year. I live in Berlin, and it has had an immersive effect on my music. From the grey and cold winters, trudging down a windy street in Warschauer Straße, to the hot summer in Neukolln, where the air is thick and warm, and dance music echoes off the city buildings.

Tash’s Movement Recordings rounds out the month of September with a new EP from the Savrun Brothers. Made up of real life brothers Kenan and Mahmuthan Savrun, the duo have compiled an impressive resume since the moniker’s debut in 2020. Early releases via Mistique Music and Soundteller Records paved the way for standout projects via Droid9 and Mango Alley across the next four calendar years, while Kenan has continued to operate in solo capacity, notching discography credits for MNL, RKP, Suza Records and Univack. Now paired once again following a contribution to Mango Alley’s ‘Augmented 012’ collection, the Savrun Brothers add Movement Recordings to their resume with ‘Phantasm’, alongside remixes from Matias Chilano and Stereo Munk.

Returning to the label for the lone interpretation of ‘Phantasm’ is Matias Chilano. As a regular on the label since making his debut in 2017, the Argentinean artist has delivered two EP's and five remixes across the last half-decade. Now considered a veteran of the progressive music scene, Matias continues to choose his projects wisely with standout releases for Higher States, Meanwhile, Or Two Strangers, Proton Music and Sudbeat, while genre tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy J remain steadfast supporters. Always a creative remixer, Matias now returns to the label with a thrilling rendition of 'Phantasm'. Matias’ veteran production chops serve him well here as he crafts a seven-minute journey that is bursting with buzzing effects and a keen sense of rhythm and groove. Flowing through phasing textures and rich design qualities, the first act evolves with an effortless ease, eventually revealing an emotive break complete with a tasteful marriage of hopeful pads and haunting vocals, an appealing coax that is sure captivate even the most discerning of dancefloors.

Following the hugely successful release of their 'Symbiosis' debut album, on which Dutch duo Callecat took us on a blissed-out journey, collaborating with some of the best producers in progressive house music, it's now time for the remixes.

We're happy to announce that every single song of the LP will be remixed, and- like with the collaborating artists on the album- the people they've invited to rework the songs are nothing short of spectacular!

Introducing part 1 where we see progressive house super star Hernan Cattaneo team up with Australia based power house Jamie Stevens, giving their magic touch to 'Beyond Perceptions', a joined effort between Callecat and Nick Varon. And what to think of rising star Digital Mess who reworks 'Unified Formulas', originally a collaboration with Meeting Molly.

Take into account that this is only the beginning of a whole series of remix EPs to be released in the upcoming months and you'll realize that the whole 'Symbiosis' project you are witnessing is progressive house music history in the making!
