Ubi Caritas (Excerpt)

On the morning of August 6th, 1945, at 8:15am, over 80,000 Japanese men, women and children were killed. 
An American B-29 bomber had dropped the world's first atomic bomb over Hiroshima, Japan.
The bomb, known as "Little Boy", destroyed over thirteen square kilometres of the city.

This piece aims to present the change in tone, register, volume and, ultimately, meaning of the spoken word when altered by translation. Whether it be through language, lack of context or misunderstanding, the true meaning of what people say is often lost in translation. 

The title of the piece "ob" is the inverse of the single sound source "do" used in creating this piece.

It's You

This piece depicts the flight of the last remaining unicorn as it is hunted by man and animals alike. While on its fervent journey through the forest, the unicorn mourns the death of its kind and laments over the thought of having to relinquish the beauty of its surroundings. The flowers that chase the fingers of sun which reach down through the thick canopy of leaves, the water that trickles over the rocks and through the trees’ gnarled roots, and most of all, the birds that softly chirp as if serenading mother nature herself. All this will be gone, all this will be stripped away, all this will be silenced if it gets caught.
