À l’aube,
Un petit duc sonne la cloche du village et réveille les rossignols,
Solo de mobylette qui dessine le paysage,
Un bourdon drague un saxophone,
L’eau capricieuse se fraie un chemin jusqu’au vignoble d’un mélomane, 
Le boulanger guette le vent…
Au commencement était le son.

Avec la participation de Vincent, Georges, Stéphane, Victor, Emma, Jacques, Marc et Myriam.

Autre espace-temps, à Azillanet ça craquèle sous les rires. Certain.es se laissent surprendre par l’expérience, d’autres y plongent les yeux fermés. Se laisser traverser les oreilles !

s&S New Year's 2024 stream - HOUR 1

This was a show for Ub Radio / DFM created live by the Remote Operator (Fausto) from the s&S Radio studio.  This was a rolling, evolving, rather cinematic collage of original field and studio recordings and live sounds. Featured were layered original field recordings from our many years in China and more recently Aotearoa (New Zealand); bits and pieces from the studio; live processing and merrymaking. I was streaming a feed from NZ to the Ub radio folks in California who then added live a few periodic sounds on top and filled in with the intermission after the first hour. This unedited recording is only the output from my side, line-out from the studio mixer. Its rather dense and sonically packed to stimulate your mind's eye nonetheless. Enjoy!

We once again relayed large chunks of this year's Oscillation Festival live performances occurring in Brussels over the s&S radio stream which took place 1-4 May 2025. In the hours leading up to the Oscillation relay switchover on 2 May, we live-mixed our own 'unofficial' contribution in keeping with this year's theme: 'The Weather', direct from the s&S meteorological monitoring outpost, which we're sharing here for your enjoyment. We were coincidentally experiencing a rather heavy, turbulent storm while we were transmitting from here in Wellington, some of which you hear buried in the mix. Enjoy!

浮音飞线 [Fú yīn fēi xiàn] / “Floating Sound, Flying Wires” [Dali: 2010-2020]
s&S was based continuously in various far-flung locations within the peripheries of mainland China from 2006-2021. During that time, the radio stream operation continued, while we also carried on with the creation of original content and the recording of local sounds. Your Remote Operator would make regular attempts to transmit live shows from each of the home studios where we were based, though piercing the Great Firewall consistently was often a real challenge. This hour is assembled exclusively of excerpts from thematically China-centric broadcasts made in Dali, Yunnan province at s&S’s Banana Hut Hideaway studio. It includes original sounds/ music, remixes, field recordings, noises and voices nabbed from live Chinese FM & shortwave radio. Most of these bits are lightly edited excerpts that were originally crafted live on the air.  Behold these floating sounds and flying wires!
