Bio - Born in Suburban Chicagoland and raised in Northwest Wisconsin, Steve Seuling (a.k.a. Centrific) anchored himself in Minneapolis since 1993. In a mostly-hidden, yet vibrantly evolving underground scene, Seuling started attending, curating, and DJing events in the mid-1990s. Underscoring his commitment for the Twin Cities’ massive bass bins, Seuling then in March of 1998 founded “Intellephunk”, his brand of parties that began at the now-shuttered Rockler Fur Building, drawing inspiration from those of his contemporaries (Woody McBride’s “Electric Disko”, Drop Bass Network’s Even Furthur). Centrific throws a weekly summer party called “Communion”, founded in 2007 alongside fellow Midwest native Dustin Zahn. Communion is an inclusive open-air day party, focusing on the psychedelic side of house and techno. Most recently, Centrific created an online Twitch stream entitled “Distant Future”, a platform where he invites local and international DJs to showcase their music and chat about their ideas for the future of the rave scene.  His dedication to preserving and protecting the local roots of the dance music community shows that, in many ways, he’s the lifeblood of Midwest techno.

Steve’s contributions and continued loyalty to Minneapolis is immense and self-evident. He embodies a fatherly role in both his day-to-day life and artistic practice. Seuling is grounded and approachable; a speaker-freaker with a wry sense of humor and an openness to connect with new and old friends. His DJ style explores a direct lineage to pummeling, aggressive Midwest techno and house, mixing with pointillist sonic precision that permeates his approach to his musical eclecticism. Centrific veers away from musical boundaries and expectations, while pushing further and further into that psychedelic headspace one can only call “the groove”.

Jason Patrick’s lineage connects two of the most influential cities in electronic music: Chicago and Detroit. His unique sonic fingerprint combines influences from both cities, honing in on that unmistakable Detroit spirit, while harmoniously incorporating a subtle influence from the Windy City. As a highly-skilled, dynamic selector, he’s been a resident at Chicago’s infamous Spybar with regular travels across the USA, hitting cities like Los Angeles, New York, Miami and Detroit respectively. He’s also been booked to play in Europe, appearing at Tresor in Berlin and Plastic in Milan.

Equally adept in the studio, he channels years spent refining his technical skills into tracks that have landed on labels such as KMS, Gynoid Audio, DJ Hyperactive’s 4 Track and his own Klectik label. Focused on the same nuanced, hypnotic sound Jason is known for, Klectik launched in 2007 and is now 33 releases deep. Equipped with deep knowledge, superlative skills, and a progressive, driven attitude towards his work, Jason Patrick is one of the lynchpins of Chicago techno.

Today, he is an intrinsic part of Chicago’s Astral Undertones collective, performing as their resident DJ, while also passing on his extensive knowledge to the team. Meanwhile, in the studio, he works with up and coming producers to impart his studio know-how, gained through two decades of dedication to exploring sound and frequency in great detail. In doing so, he is ensuring the next generation of Chicago’s electronic music community are equipped with the knowledge they need to take the scene forward and continue the legacy laid down by the pioneers from both Detroit and Chicago.

Still driven by an all-consuming passion for techno, Jason Patrick continues to give his all to electronic music culture. A true DJ to the core, music fanatic, clubber, Berlin born and based, Boris' 20 year career has seen the evolution of dance music of all kind and parties all around the world and his eclectic style reflects just that.

His musical roots reach back to the mid 80s, when Boris moved to New York for four years of musical inspiration thanks to Larry Levan's residency at Paradise Garage. With close connection to Berghain and Panorama Bar dating back to the old Ostgut location in 2000, Boris truly embodies his hometown's fascination for the perpetual evolution of dance music.

As a DJ, he is not exactly keen on refining a certain genre, but rather to push music with a certain twist. Tune in for a full fledged masterclass, from a faultless legend behind the decks.

A living legend is added to our REC series. Relive the memorable set of Steve Rachmad, the man with numerous aliases, including Sterac, recorded in our Room 01. As you would expect from the Dutch DJ and producer, his performance reflects more than two decades of clubbing and perfecting a sound that is often attributed to his adopted home of Detroit. ﻿

Two hours set of a languid ascension, filled with unsettling yet reassuring tracks all the way through. Add varied influences, some heavy groove, a big pinch of skill, and you get his trademark. There is no doubt why the artist has been performing for so many years, and this recording is further irrefutable evidence.
