Open-hearted house and techno from a Minneapolis mainstay who believes in the freedom of music. Autokinetic’s contribution to the series is a brand new live hardware set, featuring all original tracks written and performed by Mike McClure. 

The mix opens with a bird call sample recorded somewhere in the woods of Minnesota by Field Guide co-founder Lauryn Lesley, overlaid by moody chords that wouldn’t sound out of place in a deep house track. Tune in for one hour of warm, spacious, dub-tinged deep techno for the lover in you.

From Karl @karlpmeier: This is the complete version of the mix that I did for the Hugo Ball @hugoball312 event/mix series back in 2015. (It returns Kraftwerk to the beginning of the set, as initially it had to be edited out for copyright reasons.) The intention was to create something that traversed all kinds of genres and styles — much in the same way the residents did so expertly at Hugo Ball. You’ll find everything in here from Wire to Big Audio Dynamite to the Pet Shop Boys, and so on. Cory Simpson is the co founder of Depth Seattle, a collective of Techno artists and DJs from the Pacific Northwest coming together to bring some of the best and most forward thinking Techno to Seattle. 

With a Midwest mindset, and holding true to the underground ethos from which he came, Cory Simpson is an artist focused on the raw and darker territories of electronic music. This mix was recorded live, 1 take, 3 CDJs & 1 1200  & Xone 92.
