One year and a half after Jaroska’s ’Red Room Offering’ release, Lyon-based AR/FM label is back with the fourth imprint of its catalog, due for June 2021.
Following the label’s aim of exploring a widened techno spectrum while working with and promoting unsung talented friends, AR/FM is about to provide another beautiful piece of music, this time from ephemeral trio Stakhanov.

This eponymous LP offers 55 minutes of dense, fluctuant electronic experimentations, taking inspirations in the relentless Soviet worker myth. Its frantic and industrial overall atmosphere, set by sharp yet harsh paces, is eventually pulled to pieces by murky and hallucinated ambient acts, depicting a way darker story than the one told by the USSR propaganda.  
Thus, one rhetorical question remains: Could this unhealthy man-a-machine glorification come to any different end than madness?

Based upon Hugo Charpentier’s drawings, that can be found both on inner and outer sleeves, the 7-track album definitely takes advantage of its visual dimension, resulting in an elegant double-12” black-&-white gatefold layout. 

Releasing Stakhanov was also for AR/FM a way to pay tribute to the golden era of Lyon alternative electronic scene around 2013-2016, of which the project-members were three of the many faces. 
Through their different collectives and labels (CLFT Militia, SILO, Palma…) amongst others, all the instigators of this creative craze considerably contributed to the constitution of a new generation of Lyon-scene protagonists, AR/FM being one of them.

Influenced heavily by the metallic and industrial sounds that surround him at his day job, Veldt (HANDS, Industrial Detroit) channels those sounds into a rhythmic chamber, filled with electronics that hint to influences from the Rhythmic Noise, Industrial, and Techno strata.

While residing in Detroit, Michigan. Veldt works closely and in partnership with Industrial Detroit and his own tape label Scorch Assembly.

A track written on 6/06, hence the heavy use of the TR-606 drum machine. Other machines used were: System 8, MicroFreak, Peak, Minilogue, TB03, SH01, SE02, and Hydrasynth all of which were triggered by an MPC One.

DVS NME - Co-Determination

Exactly one year after his 2020 release entitled Dunklewissenschaft, DVS NME returns with a collection of new tracks that were produced between late 2020 and early 2021. This 25-track album is another obvious thematic tribute, only this time he chose to pay homage to the writing of the socialist revolutionary Karl Marx. Every song title is a nod to the German philosopher's economic and political theory. Even the album cover borrows directly from Marx, re-adapting the original cover of the 1848 pamphlet entitled 'The Communist Manifesto'.

This album, as with the last, relies heavily on the sounds of classic Electro machines like Mono/Poly, MS-20, SH-101, Jupiter-8, Juno-106, SH-2, System 100, Juno 60, JX-3P, TB-303, Polysix, TR-606, OB-8, TR-808, ARP Odyssey, as well as some contemporary additions to his studio like Hydrasynth, System 8, Novation Peak, Minilogue, SE-02, and Microkorg.

DVS NME is the man behind the weekly radio show/daily blog called 'Dark Science Electro' and has been a dedicated contributor for the Electro community for the last 11 years. He shares his love of Electro music by posting Electro-affiliated news, art, mixes, albums, memes, concerts, tracks, gear, and more. This album is available for $15 USD.
