Too many great tunes had to be left out, but my aim was to to extend each mix as long as possible, layering the tunes to create new soundscapes from these beautiful tracks.

10 Years of Giegling Records - Tribute Mix (2024)

Four years after we featured their guest mix, one of the most played with over 40K plays, the beloved Italian duo Orion is back on our "Delayed with..." series. This time, they're sharing a live set recorded at this year's Paradise City festival.

Saturday's program at the Sweet Spot stage included many of our friends who are usual suspects here at Delayed. It felt like a family gathering... in the rain. Rain can dramatically influence a party's vibe. It often disrupts, ends, or alters the atmosphere, but sometimes, it enhances the energy, creating a unique experience. Fortunately for Orion and everyone at the Sweet Spot stage that Saturday, the rain brought the latter effect. Orion and the crowd were in sync, embracing the "f*ck this rain" attitude. Orion's live set was groovy and deep yet uplifting and energetic. No artist wants rain during their performance, but in this case, it just worked. It was great.

Konstantin is a german DJ and producer who established himself as a one of the most exceptional figures of the modern electronic music scene. Giegling, an eclectic label he formed with his friends, has covered everything from techno and house to experimental and ambient. In 2014, Resident Advisor named Giegling as the best label of the year and wrote that "With albums and EPs from Kettenkarussell, Vril, Edward, Traumprinz and DJ Metatron, that feeling they've been building for years reached something close to perfection."
Besides Konstantin, German dj is also known for his alter ego project Herr Koreander and Kettenkarussell, the result of collaboration with Leafar Legov. Under Kettenkarussell they released 3 EPs and one highly acclaimed studio album, "Easy Listening".

What makes Konstantin outstanding as a selector is the way he combines tough and aggressive percussion with melancholic atmosphere. With this mix, Konstantin brings 85-minutes of sonic adventure into authentic and modern dance music. Throughout the mix, Giegling’s head does not limit himself to one genre, crossing up musical borders with carefully selected records.

This is a long-overdue homage to one of the best house labels ever conceived. At only ten releases long, and almost entirely created by both The Timewriter and Terry Lee Brown Jr., Driftwood hit the mark every single time with some of the smoothest deep house around. 

It took me quite a while to complete the series, not to mention a good amount of money, but the hunt was worth every penny. I've owned the entire series for about six years now, but just now am finally getting around to compiling a mix of only driftwood tracks. 

Total respect goes to the Driftwood label, Jean F. Cochois AKA The Timewriter, Norman Feller AKA Terry Lee Brown Jr., Hakan Lidbo, Robi Uppin, and Jonathan Axelsson. Special thanks goes to my friend Travis Wolf for originally pointing this label out to me back in 2002 and for kicking off an obsessed passion for this Imprint.
