Wow old school find! My second ever mixtape. The first tape was a drum & bass/jungle mixtape that was 75% tracks from the Reinforced label. This mix is mainly Michigan and Ohio artists.

FAUZIA is an artist of many moods. The UK talent moves from IDM to soul on her NTS Radio residency, while her club DJ sets reveal her love for '90s-style breaks, electro and bass-heavy sounds. In the studio, she explores her softer side through self-released homespun dub and ambient jungle.

In recent years, she's gravitated towards live performances. Her gossamer vocals, one of her strongest suits, cuts through live instrumentation like a hummingbird in agile flight. In 2020, the London-based talent told Mixmag that she was done being categorised as a "dance music" artist—and so far, she's succeeded. While she incorporates clubby touchstones into her work, there's a deep level of cross-genre knowledge and blending at play.

FAUZIA's RA podcast makes that clear. Free of any four-to-the-floor music, it moves from experimental jazz to orchestral melodies to R&B ballads for a thoughtful and introspective journey full of her own unreleased music that points towards her newer interest in composition. Hashman Deejay stands out as one of those DJ's and producers where he lets the music do the talking. Like fellow collaborators PLO Man & C3D-E you won't see many interviews, let alone photos - they show up to the party and do their thing. 
With a vast range of alias' and collaborative projects Hashman has been responsible for some of the rawest sounds in experimental, breaks, house and techno. As well as a DJ his vast taste can expand anywhere from shoegaze and punk, disco and raw chicago sounds, to dubbed acid and techno. 
For this mix the selector has dug deep into the tape hiss sounding crates covering oldschool beats that could be mistaken for an OG Ras G tape, dub flowing onwards into some select acid house and more synth focused club sounds all working together with the most seamless touch. We had a very brief chat with Hashman about his mix but this one is all about the sounds and he lets that do the talking.

J'air repris ici dans une toute nouvelle version un de mes premiers morceaux créés au moment où je m'étais acheté, il y a maintenant déjà quelques années, mon piano numérique (Roland FP30) qui m'enchantait à lui tout seul par ses sonorités nouvelles pour moi. Il perd malheureusement beaucoup ici de sa sonorité, car je ne peux le brancher à ma carte audio que par sa sortie casque. De cette première version et de son arrangement d'époque j'ai cependant conservé ici  la partie centrale. J'espère que vous apprécierez son ambiance très rêveuse
