“For this mix, I really enjoyed digging and finding tracks that spoke to me without setting too many boundaries in terms of genre. I wanted to let things flow naturally, to follow a feeling rather than a structure. There’s a strong presence of 90s cuts throughout — records that carry mind-trip energy, nostalgica, expensive and deep sounds, which felt right for this one.”

This month we are thrilled to welcome Thai-American, Brooklyn-based DJ, composer, and producer Apok to this series :) 

Apok continually strives to weave together a tapestry sounds in his compositions - combining his penchant for cinematic storytelling, deep bass, hypnotic techno, percussive club rhythms and simmering sound design. 

Fresh off his latest EP “Ore” released earlier this year on label Club Dub (@club__dub)which he co-runs, Apok plays a monthly radio residency at Newtown Radio and has graced the decks at clubs such as Mood Ring and Hell Phone.

For A—Z, Apok delivers a shape-shifting session of cinematic, dub-soaked techno. Across its runtime, the mix drifts through fogged-out club abstractions and hypnotic, slow-burn momentum; deconstructing and rebuilding rhythm in unexpected forms. It's a reflection of Apok’s meticulous sound craft and narrative instinct as a producer, grounding experimental impulses in body-moving rhythms.

At RA we have a multitude of voices, each one a music fanatic. Radio is a platform where many of us began our journeys within this world. We’d like to combine these voices and local stations in their cities, with local artists, label heads, record stores, designers and more to create two-hour long broadcasts celebrating these communities.
