BSV: Hello Mateo! Thank you for contacting us with your session request. Obviously you enjoyed the previous episode, so you wanted to be a part of our story.
MATEO QUILES: I am very grateful for this opportunity, I met you when my friend Mass Digital shared that fantastic set for you.  It's amazing that my session is next to yours.

BSV: As an old school DJ, is it difficult to adapt to current electronic music trends? Are you in progressive mode from the beginning?
MATEO QUILES: It has not been difficult for me, since I have never disconnected from the musical world.  I have been adapting over the years according to the style I felt the most at that time. I started with Breakbeat and Electro until 2006, I continued with Minimal-Techno and Hard Techno until 2014 where I lost that spark. Feeling that Progressive gave me from the first moment I discovered it and where I hope to be until my retirement.

BSV: So you play breakbeat also? Asking for your last track in the mix (pretty).
MATEO QUILES: In my sessions I always like to end with a special track, be it vocal or Break.  I discovered a group called Framewerk who do an amazing break very old school style and they suit my sets very well. They have a label called Capital Heaven where you find authentic jewels. My latest track in particular is by Distant Fragment, also some classics that just released an EP on this label.

BSV: You are a member of the ''Malaga Progressive Space'' movement.  Do you host parties these days?
MATEO QUILES: At this moment no, we are looking to 2022 so that normality is safe and we can hold events again.  Since the pandemic, I reconverted the label into doing radio shows to promote the artists that appeared on my tracklists.  And the truth is that I am very happy since they have an incredible reception every month that keeps my motivation high in these difficult times.

BSV: Are you considering music production? DJ since 1998 must have a lot of listening experience.
MATEO QUILES: Very good question, my friend, the truth is that the production never caught my attention.  I loved going to buy vinyl at music stores.  I was 2 times in London shopping and it was crazy incredible, I was used to have 2 stores in my city, and in London I entered at least 20 !!  Maybe if 15/20 years ago I knew that being a producer today is so important and that makes you have more open doors to succeed in music, I would not have thought about it.

BSV: Equipment that you used while recording this mixtape?
MATEO QUILES: For my sets at home I always use an easy setup, Macbook Pro + Traktor + Numark Controller.

BSV: Your idol DJ?
MATEO QUILES: My idol at the moment is Hernan Cattaneo, he holds the Progressive flag so tightly that he is admired all over the world for both his career and his closeness to the public.  
He is an example to follow.

I select music every day and mix it looking for the right chemical combination that allows me to fly away. When I find it, I am no longer here.

We are in Argentina this weekend with Jorge Monti, who's beginning in music went down to the adolescence, playing different instruments in several rock bands, going through the conservatory of the Ciudad de Buenos Aires, until finding love for percussions and drums.
His main influences are progressive rock bands such as Pink Floyd, Yes, Genesis o Jethro Tull, or hard rock bands like Led Zeppelin, Cream o Deep Purple, among others. Later he'll find electronic music and fell in love by progressive, deep and melodic house.
His main influences here are artists such as Hernan Cattaneo, Sebastian Busto, Fernando Ferreyra, Ezequiel Arias, Mariano Mellino, Dmitry Molosh, Alex O'Rion, Guy J and many more.
He prefers to play progressive music, trying to make sets that tells a story, with smooths and delicate transitions.

Patricio Mucchielli es un dj y productor nacido en la ciudad de Resistencia, Chaco, Argentina. Musicalmente influenciado desde temprana edad por artistas como Soda Stereo, Manu Chao, Babasonicos, entre otros; lo que lo llevó a aprender a tocar instrumentos musicales como la guitarra en la adolescencia. 

Posteriormente conocería la música electrónica de la mano de Guy J, Danny Howells, Hernan Cattaneo y Nick Warren. En 2018 comenzó a estudiar producción de música electrónica. Actualmente ha pasado por varios escenarios de la ciudad como "Look Me" una pista de house progresivo underground en Basement Club; el conocido teatro Studio con un show de orquesta, entre otros. 

Sus producciones ya cuentan con el apoyo de Fernando Ferreyra, Nick Warren, John Cosani por mencionar algunos.

BSV: Somewhere in Mirijevo in 2014 I stumbled upon a free download pack with your track “In Front Of Me”. Artist name was interesting at first, but I didn't know that the producer was from the same country as I am. I used that track in one of my early mixes. Are you impressed?
JELLY FOR THE BABIES: To be honest I used to hear this. When I started producing my main goal was to spread my sounds across the globe and electronic music in my country wasn't so popular like in some other countries... Probably that's why lot of them, who enjoy electronic music, from my country, didn't know I am from here.

BSV: If we compare your production from that period with the current, did you switch more to progressive house style?
JELLY FOR THE BABIES: Well yes. During the period, from my start, till now, my taste in music changed a lot and evolved from electro house more towards deep and progressive house music.

BSV: Are you jeally for the babies? You have kiddos?
JELLY FOR THE BABIES: Don't have kids yet, but will work on that.

BSV: You are the owner of several record labels. How do you manage to read those strong demo emails?
JELLY FOR THE BABIES: I work, a lot.

BSV: Hilly landscapes. Is that your inspiration?
JELLY FOR THE BABIES: And not only that... Long walks through the woods, mountains, hiking... Positive emotions.
 
BSV: So, only kick / drum samples in your production? What’s your fovorite synth vst?
JELLY FOR THE BABIES: Tone Gladiator I used the most, so let's pick that one.

BSV: Do you know how to play a “kolo” and whether you attended piano accordion or button accordion lessons?
JELLY FOR THE BABIES: I knew to play some cause I played harmonica in musical school when I was younger.

Bio 

DJ and Producer from Sri Lanka. Vishnu(LK) made his first steps into the field in 2014 across which he mastered the skill of emoting through music. Although Commercial Music played a key role in his home ground, Sri Lanka, Vishnu's interest laid in Underground music. Despite music having an ocean of varieties, Techno, Deep House, Progressive House, and Organic House have been Vishnu's greatest strengths. Vishnu has his own distinctive ways of grabbing the impulse of his listeners and making them swirl to his tunes. He is definitely a work of creativity and passion, blend together with intense love towards music, which makes him the virtuoso he is. Releasing his first single "Lost Soul" in 2021, Vishnu takes his love for music to the next stage.

PAS-RISKY was born in Izmir, Turkey. His passion for music started at a young age, as he was always surrounded by friends who were connected with electronic music.
