With the original release marking Rekids return from hiatus, Radio Slave's The Clone Wars is now revisited with a trio of new interpretations from three distinctive talents on house & techno.

On the A side, Markus Suckut moulds the original into the kind of no-nonsense rolling techno jam that has personified his releases for Mosaic and Figure. The B side enlists two US talents in the shape of Parris Mitchell and DJ Spider, with the former bringing a glitchy take on the jacking Chicago house that Mitchell perfected in his timeless productions for Dance Mania, and the latter shaping the track into crunchy weirdo techno that sits perfectly alongside his output for The Trilogy Tapes and his own NY-based Plan B Recordings.

Having strong links to CLR and Electric Deluxe, @DJEmerson and his own Berlin based label has been dealing with quality outputs since 2005, featuring many of the biggest artists out there. It’s to no surprise that a decade later @Micro-fon is still pushing forward thinking sounds by new and established artists.

@XHEIarg is a key Argentinian producer, having a hand in one of the most respected club brands in Buenos Aires called Under Club and delivering many of the world’s Techno elite to the locals. Not only has he played with the likes of Jeff Mills and Juan Atkins, his productions are made for dancefloors and he’s already chalking up an impressive back catalogue of labels.

For today’s DT:Premiere we selected “Maniaco” which has deeper elements complimented by his usual punchy grooves. The highlights come from rising synth drones to rolling stabs that induce energy and emotion in the same instance.

After a few more techno releases we got together and found in the north of Portugal a real gem, his name is Dynamic and he comes to the lab with 3 amazing tracks and very rich EP 

The title track is a dub and intro track with heavy bass and percussion bound to lead journeys ahead for years to come, while 'Fluctuations' is a very groovy and bouncy track with a sense of direction and to finish things off with 'Proceed' that comes with a simple but very hypnotizing synth and a driven bassline that bounces all around the dancefloor.


to our hearts contents we called the Argentinean Desireé Falessi to the duty and the result is a very heavy version of the track proceed

After a successful debut year in 2016 on Soma, SLV kicks off 2017 in his suitably unique style with the Rises EP. The mysterious Berlin based producer has crafted a blazing 3 tracker that gracefully moves from hard hitting Deep Techno to more moving, melodic edged material. 

Connections gets things started at a fiery pace as SLV’s signature sub heavy, rolling percussion drives out atop a hollowed out vocal sample, aiming directly for peak time, dance floor action. Planetary goes a little deeper and hypnotic as yet more intense drums and crashing highs, combined with a mesmerising synth hook, end up in ferocious outcomes. Closing this latest release from SLV is Rises where he really takes things on a journey. Certainly things are at a slower pace than the previous two tracks but SLV makes up for that in emotive content. Beautifully crafted, delayed pianos are floated across driving beats and wisp-like hi hats. 

Another standout and individual creation for the, as yet, unidentified SLV.

The title track is a chord-laden techno offering, both spacy, hypnotic and intense, suited for many phases of a set.

Blackmailer honors its title by taking things into a more tense direction with a sinister synth line.

Red Storms sits somewhat in the middle with its trippy bell-ish theme.

Clash Lion boss Shall Ocin drops a trio of tracks to mark his debut on Truesoul.

In recent years the Argentinean-born, Barcelona-based artist has established a fine pedigree, releasing on quality labels such as Ellum, Hotflush and his own Clash Lion imprint. What makes Ocin’s productions distinct is his utilisation of modular synths, analogue rhythmboxes and custom-made effects, resulting in an organic and altogether explorative take on techno.

The title track ‘Isolate’ is a thick brew of blistering acid and analogue grooves ripe for the peak-time that shows of Ocin’s flair for rhythmically engrossing arrangements. ‘Believe’ is a deliciously disorientating exploration into the deep, as eerie effects and vocals dip in and out of the multi-dimensional cut. The beguiling ‘Archaea’ rounds things out on the melodic tip, with lashings of deep atmospheric layers and synth stabs throughout.

After repeated chart topping efforts on Kraftek, UK duo Spektre return with the darkly seductive vocals of Berliner Juliet Fox. Tiger Stripes follows up ‘Baby’ with a quintuplet of aces on Drumcode.

Death, taxes and Tiger Stripes crafting dancefloor weapons for Adam Beyer’s Drumcode and Truesoul labels. Not many things in life are certain, but we’ve always counted on Mikael Nordgren knocking it out of the park. Last year’s ‘Baby’ EP was a label highlight, while in March he released ‘Sneaking Hotdogs Into People’s Pocket’, which mined the spirit of ‘90s-drenched euphoria and was a standout on Truesoul. Now he’s back dropping heat on DC.

Taking the retro vibes of Hotdogs into more techno-orientated territory, he bunkered down with his family in the Swedish forest, setting up a makeshift studio in the kitchen. From this, the five-track ‘Into Desolation’ was born. Beginning with ‘Recluse’, it combines steely bass rumbles with old skool stabs and a heady vocal from Mikaela Rahmqvist. ‘Basshunter’ is propelled by galloping bass and a catchy undulating melodic loop and is brilliant in its effective simplicity. ‘Into The Early Night’ is a pearl, comprising deep compression-heavy bass stabs, perky percussion and a rousing vocal, making it a winner at festivals so far this summer, including Awakenings. ‘Ignition’ fires on all cylinders with a wicked arpeggiated hook and pounding drums. ‘Ride’ is a nostalgic nod to the past as trance-inspired chords marry deliciously with crunchy future-focused techno.

‘Camargue’ gets a fresh treatment on Drumcode, as a handful of techno’s finest give new life to an R&S classic.
Coming from the studio of CJ Bolland and Portuguese journeyman The Advent, the track was born out of a golden age of Belgium dance music and first released in 1992.

Enrico Sangiuliano delivers a trademark cosmic rework underlined by tribal bass stabs and twisted synth lines to accompany the famous riff. It’s an outstanding remake that’s already a big summer favourite for the Drumcode crew.
