this song means a lot to me as a creator. i often felt as if my work was unoriginal because i looked up to other artists for my style. that's kinda the story i wanted to tell with this album, that, its ok to have inspiration like that and my work is my own. that probably doesn't make any sense to anyone reading this but those were the kind of feelings i was having for a while. i felt like everyone had their own idea of what their music was and i was just left out. anyway dramatic rant over i had a great time making this and i'm excited to show u what i've been workin' on :>

Happy new year!! This one may be a little rushed on account of the fact that I wanted to get it out before 2022, but this year has definitely been a trip. High highs and low lows, one after the other, taught us many things. Losing people, whether it's to death or other means is always rough, and this year seems to have been alot of that. That said, it's over now. I hope 2022 is awesome, but since saying that curses the year, I hope 2022 is absolute garbage asscrack terrible pain forever. Love you all <3

i finished writing lifeline on the 9th of april 2020. this was just after a rather dark time where i had gone through significant life changes, during which i realised a lot about who i am as a person. this is one of my favourite songs, and although i was in a dark place at the time of writing this, hearing back on it now brings me peace, knowing i'm out of what i was once trapped in.

i began writing "impostor syndrome" on the 13th of september 2020. this track was the follow-up to atelophobia and also conveyed the same message of feeling inadequate, along with the feeling of everything good being a facade, as well as everything bad. i went from moments of feeling horrible to much better, and in the moments of feeling better i would question whether the problems to begin with were valid or not. this often plagued my mind and made everything i was going through confusing.

i wrote the base instrumental to this song in September 2019. this was originally going to be a cover of a song that meant a lot to me. i then sent it to one of my best friends @nshvllmusic who added the pretty guitars and piano you hear in it, and I instantly fell in love with it.

the original idea of the song stemmed from the fact that around the time of making it, i had lost trust and faith in someone i held close to me. i didn't realise how much emotional damage they had been causing until i finally cut ties, which probably saved my life.

there was a lot of manipulation and gaslighting, and it altered my perception of myself and how i thought other people perceived me. i couldn't function or think properly, and its effects lingered on into new relationships with people despite them being gone. indirectly, they made me isolate myself from everyone, and held me alone to themselves. i couldn't confide in anyone, and was constantly living in fear of them.

this song highlights how even in the absence of something or someone that has had such a negative impact in your life, their effects and the scars left behind can still manifest in your life.

thankfully, through a lot of therapy and support from my loving friends, i can say i'm in a much happier and better place.
