I am a singer/songwriter/guitarist with over 500 songs. I classify my music as Acousticool Reggae-lypso, and I like listening to Cat Stevens, Carole King, the Eagles, Bob Marley. I do a lot of co-writing, and I perform as often as I can.

     Clarence Mayhew creates a dream-like blend of Ambient Electronic textures and Shoegaze overtones that can shift from dreamy to noisy in an instant.  Hailing from Florida, Clarence has drawn influences from bands like The Cocteau Twins, My Bloody Valentine, Portishead and New Order to conjure a unique sonic signature that puts the bass guitar at the center of a normally guitar driven genre.

     To date, Clarence Mayhew has released two EPs and 2 albums with the most recent being Where the Ocean Meets the Shore.  Completely self produced and with himself manning all instruments, this latest offering is a step towards a fuller, more ambient sound than his previous releases and represents the evolution of his uncommon approach to music.

     2014 sees Clarence Mayhew introducing his music to live audiences with several performances lined up.  He is also actively seeking collaborations with like-minded and some not-so like minded musicians to continue the journey he has started.
