So glad to have been able to collaborate with the wonderful @doina-bora on this arrangement of the Paddy Fahey tune: Paddy Fahey's Jig No1 also know as Fahey's Favorite.  It's certainly a favorite of mine, and Doina's fiddle playing brings this track to life.  I hope you'll enjoy.

A tune beyond us, yet ourselves,..."

The Man With the Blue Guitar is a poem published in 1937 by Wallace Stevens. It is divided into thirty-three brief sections, or cantos. In the poem, an unnamed "they" says, of the titular man, "you do not play things as they are", sparking a prolonged meditation on the nature of art, performance, and imagination.

I play the piano. Unless otherwise noted, everything is played and recorded on a Kawai ca99.


Once upon a time I programed, people called it hacking, I called it learning, I can still do it, but I prefer music, etc., 

The profile picture was taken when I was a teenager in the 1990s. I just liked the old washed out look of it. They were actual physical things back in the day. And phones had cords.

I started playing around age ~8-10 (who remembers, I know i started with the violin but moved on). Over the years I've had to re-teach myself the piano many times due to life getting in the way and not allowing me the time to work on it. The repetition of re-learning has helped with the style and technique I used to play here.

It's sort of like what happens when you learn multiple programming languages.. the syntax, etc., stop mattering as much and you just think about what you need.. works in music too I guess. :)
