A poetic piano solo inspired by the quiet beauty of early summer rain.  
"Aoshigure" captures the delicate moment when drops fall gently from fresh green leaves, evoking a sense of Japanese seasonal elegance.

In Japan, “Aoshigure” refers to the poetic image of rain falling in the freshness of early summer, rather than in the cold of autumn.  
This piece expresses that fleeting moment — the scent of soil, the softness of rain, and the quiet clarity of new leaves.  
It ends on a dominant chord, leaving a gentle resonance, like the season itself continuing beyond the notes.

Is it a scary Halloween in July with zero treats and a bagful of disaster?! Everywhere I look in the outside world, countless tragedies, terror, and horror stories run on continuous loop. That’s why, in addition to family illness and death, I took a few months away to explore my inner creative world, where, to quote the psychic medium Tangina from the movie, Poltergeist, “There is peace and serenity in the light.”  🔮😆😜🖤

Electro chill NuJazz with hip hop beats and a touch of tango

I use what I consider a classic hip-hop rhythm for the hi hats that may seem dated, but it’s comforting as a familiar element, me being a fan of Boom Bap, and it adds tension like a pesky fly or a nagging thought. The composition overall is more playful than serious, but sometimes people laugh to keep from crying. Or screaming 😱

In ATL where I live, rainstorms have arrived for the next few days as Hurricane Erin has moved inland. Yet, even on the rainiest of days, the afterglow of music created around firelight lingers like the smoky scent of burnt hickory. In my world, that “firelight” is a computer screen, although in the past I’ve noodled an acoustic guitar around a campfire. Who hasn’t?! 😀

I play the piano. Unless otherwise noted, everything is played and recorded on a Kawai ca99.


Once upon a time I programed, people called it hacking, I called it learning, I can still do it, but I prefer music, etc., 

The profile picture was taken when I was a teenager in the 1990s. I just liked the old washed out look of it. They were actual physical things back in the day. And phones had cords.

I started playing around age ~8-10 (who remembers, I know i started with the violin but moved on). Over the years I've had to re-teach myself the piano many times due to life getting in the way and not allowing me the time to work on it. The repetition of re-learning has helped with the style and technique I used to play here.

It's sort of like what happens when you learn multiple programming languages.. the syntax, etc., stop mattering as much and you just think about what you need.. works in music too I guess. :)
