We're a three piece band with part-timers who sit in on occasion (formerly Skiprope Cello. Same band, revised name). We're currently working on our 3rd album (1st full length) to be released on Bandcamp to be entitled "Vanity Fair." Watch for pre-releases soon. See Bandcamp link below.  

We're avid readers, so lyrics are often based on books.  Genre is eclectic mix of alternative, lo-fi, techno, lounge, punk-jazz of the 1920s/30s variety. We are from both California and the Midwest (Iowa), United States. Our influences include: Cole Porter, Dostoevsky, Steely Dan, F.S. Deutscher Singer-Songwriter über fünfzig Jahre alt. Seit fast vierzig Jahren schreibe und singe ich Lieder. Mein Hauptinstrument ist die akustische Gitarre, aber ich mag auch Perkussionsinstrumente (Cajon, Maracas, Gurio). Ich liebe es, melancholische und poetische Balladen zu komponieren. Aber manchmal schreibe ich auch (schwarze) humorvolle Songs, Jazzstyle und -Rocksongs. Meine Hauptsprache ist Deutsch. Aber in Zukunft will ich mehr Songs auf Englisch und vereinzelt auch Französisch schreiben.
In meinen Kompositionen bin ich inspiriert von Leonard Cohen, John Lennon, Jacques Brel, Van Morrison und Bob Dylan. Auf meinen Platten spiele und singe ich alles alleine. Meine Vision für die Zukunft ist es, Musiker aus verschiedenen Kulturen zu finden, die gerne ihre Tracks mit mir teilen wollen.
Mein persönliches Mantra ist ein Satz, der von Paul Mccartney auf dem Beatles-Album "Abbey Road auf dem Track "In the end" vor fast Fünfzig Jahren geschrieben wurde:

Die Liebe, die Du bekommst ist gleich der Liebe, die Du gibst.

German singer-songwriter over fifty years old. For almost forty years I have been writing and singing songs. My main instrument is the acoustic guitar, but I also like percussion instruments (Cajon, Maracas, Gurio). I love composing melancholic and poetic ballads. Hi there 👋 Yes! I know, the name! It is pretty hard to understand how ALL the Worlds poor can possibly be in one band!. How do we find rehearsal room space etc!? The economical costs alone are a nightmare!. Fortunately being  obviously rich m’self as I own numerous  🍎 📲‘s …..
Actually it was an ill thought out name from when the band were young and poorer. Now that there is only one member it is thankfully even more ridiculous. 
The Worldwide bit is  just me spelling United Kingdom incorrectly. - Have a listen as U may find something you like. ThePOOR as a band have always  been and will remain more than happy if one person listens to a track and thinks it ok. For them to comment,maybe to like it and save it is……!
Anyway, I’m sure you all have something  else to do :) so it's ❤️  and respec’ to all Soundcloud crew.

I use 1 app, A recycled  or rather abandoned beginners guitar, some old iPhones - often on a stick, occasionally  one other app. I have recently acquired an electric guitar, Bass and an amp and hopefully will be using them. Very pleased  to be here , it’s a fantastic place, a great community space. Cheers!! Mik-id
