"Dream a Little Dream of Me" was written in 1931 by Fabian Andre and Wilbur Schwandt with lyrics by Gus Kahn.  I have loved this song forever.

I'm in the darkness. There is no light. And the blackness surrounds me. But a ray of light in the wall has kept hope alive in me. It gives me light every day and tells me that I am still alive. I started to play… The sound of the piano went to the sky… Where it was bright. The music matched the pain of the darkness. And only I could understand what it said. I played the waltz piece. A song that gives me hope like this window.

"Out on the Weekend" is a country ballad. The song starts by describing a man getting away from the big city. Although the singer is traveling, he is reflecting on his past with what Downing describes as being "full of joy he can't relate to, floating in a dreamy sort of sadness." The lyrics then take on the theme of lovers who are lonely because they can't connect. Music critic Nigel Williamson describes the lyrics as reflecting an "emotional ambivalence." There is a contrast between comforting images such as a woman who is "so fine she is on [the singer's] mind" and "her big brass bed" and a "brand new day" against images of "a lonely boy" who "can't relate to joy" and is "so down today."
Young recognized this contrast, stating "Even when I'm happy it sounds like I'm not and when I try to say I'm happy I try to disguise it. "About the boy who can't relate to joy Young stated that it "just means I'm so happy that I can't get it all out. But it doesn't sound happy. The way I wrote it sounds sad, like I tried to hide it."
Young has stated that this song, as well as "Harvest" and "Heart of Gold" from the same album, were inspired by his then blossoming love for actress Carrie Snodgress"          Wikipedia

Notes from the Sea

Richard Hellgren is a Swedish composer and multi-instrumentalist, residing on the island of Gotland in the Baltic Sea. His music is known for its minimalistic and contemplative character, often touching upon themes of melancholy and poetry. Richard's unique style of composition stems from his special relationship with his old Malmsjö upright piano, which he uses to create most of his recordings.
As a building architect, Richard draws inspiration from the creative process of composing music. He believes that both architecture and music revolve around the concept of space and silence, respectively. In his own words, "Architecture is about encompassing space and music is about encompassing silence!"
Richard's music has been praised by notable sources, with one reviewer describing his work as "hauntingly beautiful, with a melancholic edge that lingers long after the last note has played." His first EP, Ainigma, was released on the New York label Sonder House in June 2019, followed by his second release, Felt Transience, on the same label in October 25.
Richard Hellgren's unique approach to composition and his ability to evoke emotions through his music make him a rising star in the industry. His work is not to be missed.
