A little exercise using the Dorian scale in C and inspired by  the works of Henryk Gorecki. Hence the title.

Boy Look Now were a Dutch new wave/art rock band from the city of Groningen. They formed in 1983. The quartet comprised of Jen Alkema (vocals), Paul Kruize (synthesizers, guitar), Wim Bouwman (bass) and Dennis ’t Hart (drums).

Their signature sound was a mix of solid, detailed drums supplemented with a rhythmic melodic bass, elaborate keyboard arrangements and powerful vocals. The band recorded several demos. In May 1986 they recorded 2 songs for  the renowned radioshow 'Vara’s Popkrant'. Boy Look Now split in 1987.

In 2021 Boy Look Now released remasters of their demo's, some with songs that had never seen the light of day before. The first demo, 'The Back Of Beyond', is a ‘one take’ live recording from their rehearsal room from 1984. The second, 'Chasing The World', was their first professional multi track studio recording, recorded at the Popburo studio in Groningen in 1985. This recording also features contributions of two violinists and a cellist. The third demo, 'It's Over Now', was another studio recording made in 1986. The fourth demo, 'Waiting For Tomorrow', features some bonus tracks. Two songs, 'The Colour Of Blood' and 'Waiting For Tomorrow'  were recorded in 1985 using 2 tape decks. These songs feature additional saxophone. 'Call On The Preachers'  and 'Cry Out'  are live recordings made in 1997 during rehearsals.

All songs written and arranged by Boy Look Now. All demo's were remastered by Wout de Kruif, Studio State Of Sound in 2021.
