FUSE Podcast #23 - Rich NxT

There’s no denying FUSE London had a huge 2016. London’s favourite Sunday party spread its wings last year, taking its fun-loving party to Ibiza, Paris, Italy, the Netherlands and Switzerland.

At the heart of its success are core resident DJs Enzo Siragusa, Seb Zito, Rossko, Archie Hamilton, Dan Farserelli and Rich NXT, all of which are bonded over a passion for the deeper side of house and techno.

That musical taste has come through in Rich NxT’s productions as much as his DJ sets. Last year, as well as releases on FUSE London and Hund Records, he delivered two EPs of gut-busting tech house for his newly launched vinyl-only label NxT Records.

Now he’s back with his first new material of 2017 with ‘1=0’, a thumping slab of chunky tech house vibes. Listen to the track below.

¨Love & Loops is back ! After the 1st release the label commanded by Ale Castro returns to the ring. The 1st track of the vinyl belongs to the young Argentine talent Gruuv' who drop a super groovy tune to start shaking the dance floor. Then Ale Castro finally release his improvisation on the synthesizers, a classic of jackin house in his presentations, now available to the whole world. Side B kick off with the very well-know german producer dotSTRIPE, who continues the synthesizer madness with a full groovy track with vocals that remind his old school roots. Last but not least, Bs As Deep delivers another sick tune with his classical house sound, perfectly to close this 2nd various artists, a bunch of tools for any kind of dance floor.

Rich NxT returns to Fuse London for his 6th solo EP and it is perhaps his most crucial and striking material yet. These tracks have been destroying parties around the globe all summer - from daytime to nighttime, club to warehouse, all three are certfied bangers.  

From the ridiculous baselines of Brigade, the beatuifully uplifting vocal of Serious and the effect of the synthesis between natural and artificial drum sounds on Eight, each track combines moments of twisted raving with crystal clear breaks and heavy drops.

Rich NxT - Serious (FUSE029)

FUSE resident Rich NxT releases our 33rd Podcast, his fantastic set recorded live at FUSE presents LEVEL at Studio 338 earlier in the summer. A mix packed with party starters & infectious grooves to soundtrack the end of August. 

Here are a few words from Rich:
"The room was really buzzing. That dusky kind of light where you can start to see the light show come to life. Rossko was coming to the end of a wicked set and as had been for most of the day, Studio 388 was full to capacity. This was FUSE presents LEVEL. This is a recording of my set from about 40 mins until the end where Seb Zito took over. The atmosphere was magical for this party and all the way through people had smiles all over... Enjoy!"

‘What’s The Name’ closes the EP in style bringing some of Josh’s UK garage roots with curious modular sounds, doubled hi-hats and a rolling fat bassline which moves up and down, locking you in into the groove while the title-track inspired vocal sample makes you wonder ‘what’s your name’.

Something special was developing in London's rave culture during the mid-2000's. A generation of like-minded artists and promoters with similar tastes in house and techno formed a genuine scene with a spirit and alchemy that has propelled its instigators far and wide. Rich NxT was enjoying being part of the movement, frequenting the many seminal East London venues we still talk about now.

Born in 2008, FUSE London carved its own unique position on the scene with its infamous Sunday free parties at 93 Feet East. As one of FUSE’s original residents, Rich played a major part in the brand’s evolution, helping take it from a free afterparty to one of the most respected event brands and labels on the planet. As a core FUSE artist, Rich has delivered 11 classy EPs on the FUSE London imprint. In October 2020, the debut album ‘Know the Score’ lands, his crowning career achievement. The 10-tracker spans the full breadth of the house genre and is the culmination of 20 years production work, taking influence from his varied involvement in music as a DJ, raver, drummer in bands and pirate radio devotee, devouring the sounds on Weekend Rush FM.

Elsewhere the DJ/producer draws on his strongly identifiable sound to run two vinyl imprints,NxT Records and What NxT. The tastemaker favourites draw influence from techno and minimal house, while never forgetting Rich’s raver roots taking influence from jungle and hardcore.

His DJ highlights include appearances at most of the scene’s major venues such as DC-10 (Paradise, Cuttin’ Headz) Watergate, Space, Amnesia, Robert Johnson, Warehouse Elemenstratt, Mint Warehouse, Tobacco Docks, Studio 338 and The Warehouse Project. At the same time, he is versatile enough to command the decks over long sets at intimate venues such as Hopetosse, Ibiza Underground, Bret and CDV. Festival appearances in 2019 included Cocoon in The Park, BPM and Mint Festival.

Releasing regularly, he’s gained the support of many other DJs including The Martinez Brothers, Tini, Marco Carola, Enzo Siragusa, Jamie Jones, WAFF,Steve Lawler, MEAT, Matthias Kaden, East End Dubs, Alan Fitzpatrick, Eats Everything and Darius Syrossian.

Prior to his ‘Know The Score’ album dropping, Rich enjoyed an industrious first half of 2020, including a huge EP on WYLD, collaborative work with Darius Syrossian (Moxy Muzik) and remixes for INFUSE, Moan and SASH.

Meanwhile he continues to demonstrate a very keen ear with What NxT delivering the goods for new and established artists alike. Rich also continues his radio residency on Rinse FM with Fuse London and launches a new weekly show on Ibiza Global Radio
