Down The Line

I'm making an eleven track studio album of original songs at the moment. Today I wanted to do a few bits of recording that I'm able to do in my home studio, that get added into the "proper" studio mix, but I spent the entire day doing admin for the album; emailing and phoning the musicians, producer, engineer etc to arrange recordings, payments, rehearsals, etc - a totally music-less day. I can see why musicians have managers! So feeling pretty frustrated tonight I picked up my guitar and just wanted to play and sing something, anything, that wasn't one of those eleven songs. I love this song - it's a real handful in every way, took me weeks to learn and it has totally gotten under my skin. I never tire of listening to the incredible original. I perform it live a bit but have never played it straight through without making a pretty major stuff-up - this time included! So I play it differently every time. A curly customer of a song but such a good 'un. I thought I'd press record, finally, for the first time today. It's just one take and as usual the song got the better of me but it's not the kind of song you want to perfect and fix, so I hope you enjoy it anyway. Thanks heaps for stopping by to listen.
