Following up from our studio mix last December, Rick Guyez & Joshen got together once again for our very first live b2b set @ The Deep end marathon sessions at Zsofis on 14/03/2015. 

The result was once again a musical journey filled with plenty of classic tunes & even a few exclusives which highlighted the essence of pure melodic Trance, starting from the progressive end, moving onto the uplifting melodies & capping it off with a few bangers !.

Joshen’s obsession with EDM kicked off over two decades ago when eurodance and hands-up sounds grabbed his attention and refused to let go. What started as a spark quickly grew into a full-on obsession with trance music - his signature style and ultimate passion.

Hailing from Singapore, Joshen has lit up dance floors at iconic venues like Zouk Singapore, Yang, Avalon, Kyo, Mao, One Altimate & iKi, while also bringing his magic to international stages across Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia. He’s also shared the spotlight with trance heavyweights like Aly & Fila, Solarstone, Indecent Noise, Sunlight State, Jordan Suckley, ReOrder, Driftmoon, Ferry Tayle, Temple One, and Max Graham - dropping melodic sounds that hit differently and keep crowds coming back for more.

Lately, Joshen’s been making waves both locally and globally, and he’s not stopping anytime soon. Never sticking to one lane, he’s been throwing down everything from Psytrance and Hardstyle to Bass House, Dubstep, EDM, and Techno - so buckle up because you never know what’s coming next. With his infectious energy, limitless creativity, and a mission to unite people through music, Joshen’s mission is simple: to bring people together, one beat at a time.

~If there is a Sun & Moon, if there is Light vs Dark, then there is certainly also Hypnotic Visage~. Dr. Foo and Joshen, both members & DJs of local Trance community "Trance Republic", dabbled with the idea of doing a B2B collab after playing at several gigs this year. A mutual appreciation of each other's musical palate culminated the idea of forming a duo. After some explosive ying-yang in the studio together, the two decided to synergise their sounds as Hypnotic Visage!

The beauty of this visage lies in their smooth juxtaposition of each other's different core musical identity. With a keen focus on the art of progression, Joshen and Dr Foo brings out the best of each other in creatively diverse ways, while constantly driving home the reason which got them into the scene in the first place.

Hypnotic Visage is a synergy of passion across the realms of Trance and EDM. Striving to bring back the essence of DJing focused on seamless FLOW and JOURNEY to ethereal dimensions, the fusion of Dr Foo and Joshen is essentially a trip to the depths of the soul to realise the ability to soar to a higher state of mind. The juxtaposition of light against dark is welded by the duo's intricate understanding of melody and progression. No stranger to the dark and ethnic vibes across Trance, Techno and Progressive, Dr Foo strikes up an explosive partnership with Joshen to leverage on Joshen's gift for the magical melodies and to get in touch with the uplifting side of trance again. Influencing each other one song after the other, Joshen and Dr. Foo manages to bring out their hidden personalities in the form of pure melodic and (twisted) progression across the BPM ranges.
