This song is a collaboration with my good friend Mark who supplied the files to his super guitar-based rock song Bad Orange. I have remixed his track, taking his guitar riffs and tried to make something which retains the rock feel of the original but is pretty different as well. We are both happy with the result. Inspired by the poem "The Peace of Wild Things" by the American poet Wendall Berry.

When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

The Peace of Wild Things (featuring Lien)

An upbeat pop song which features a brass section and some cool acoustic guitar playing from Saul B. To me, it’s ended up with a retro 70’s feel even though I used a whole heap of synths to add some extra interest. I hope the arrangement works and I really hope you enjoy listening!
