Detached Audio presents the first in its brand new various artist album series: Detachism. Our artists have assembled to produce a 9 track album consisting solely of new material, both original pieces as well as remixes of previous releases. 

In the form of original material, we have brand new solo tracks, with Acme returning to give us the old-school flavoured 'Virulent', Option bringing the smooth 'Someone Like You', and K2T rolling out his first solo tune with the sinister 'Reckoning'. K2T also showcases two new collabs- teaming up with Sirus to produce the incredibly funky 'N'irole', and partners with Option for the silky beauty that is 'Everything I Need'. 

Remixes gracing this release see Leniz transforming Newcaise's uplifting 'No Longer Alone' into a deeper track, while ob:verse adds a fantastic personal touch onto K2T & Manu's debut release ‘Khnum’. Additionally, The Tin Box's 'Deep Ocean Cold' makes a nostalgic return with K2T turning it into a stunning Drum & Bass edit to open the album. On its final note, Khnum bring the album to a close with an amen-heavy, post-apocalyptic remix of Option's 'Blueshift'. 

Detached Audio has seen a wealth of great music in 2017, and “Detachism” only further shows the amount of talent our artists have, readily awaiting to unleash even more incredible music in 2018.

This month’s podcast comes to you by way of Detached Audio, a label which has been impressing for a while now with the breadth of their output and ability to showcase new sounds across the bass music spectrum.

Taking control for the first 30 mins is DJ, producer and DNB Dojo owner Hex. Hailing from England but based in Glasgow for the last 14 years, Hex has been DJing around Scotland since 2010 and holds a residency at Glasgow's longest running Drum & Bass night, Symbiosis. Over the past few years Hex has provided support for the likes of Icicle, Dillinja, Remarc, Chimpo, Equinox and Robyn Chaos and has graced the decks at Central Beatz, Electrikal, Jungle Nation, Rarewave, Liquid Funktion, Roots, Basstonik, Junglism, Transit, as well as plenty of appearances at locations around Scotland’s busy summer festival season.

Busy in the studio as well since 2012, Hex’s original productions have found widespread support in the underground scene with releases on Detached Audio along with labels such as Black Tuna, Celsius, Free Love Digi, Transmission Audio, Sub:mission Audio, IDMf and more. With an appreciation for all sounds and styles, his productions vary from minimal rollers to jungle smashers, dark tech to melodic liquid and more.

Closing out the hour is Detached Audio label boss K2T take to the controls. K2T is a young electronic music producer, and label manager at Detached Audio, primarily releasing soulful Drum & Bass, in addition to a variety of styles such as hip hop and house music. 
 
Having only started making music in April 2017, K2T has had a steady stream of noteworthy releases, including his debut ‘Starscape EP’, 'Lush Life EP' with Option and most recently, 'Rwenzori EP' with Sirus which came our just last week. His productivity has led to him receiving a wealth of support from Dexcell, Alien Pimp, D Flect, Emplate and many more.

K2T shows no sign of slowing down; with a number of labels turning their heads towards him and word on the horizon he's working on his debut LP, this is one name to keep an eye on.
