This is a true story about a beautiful lady from the north. A million thanks to Sean for his magical strings and synths and to my friend and band mate Ben who worked very hard on this song.

Beautiful Helen from the north    you brightened up my dark phase like a torch, scared to ask you but I did      and I was happy like a kid.

You accepted my enquiry      a collaboration of you and me,
such an unexpected pleasure,      what a musical treasure!

I' d never heard a song of you before   when I saw your poster on a wooden door, your beautiful face just caught my eyes   -   I got kind of hypnotised.

You are also on SC      like many others and like me,
your music is stunning,      your voice is so enchanting.

Then I saw your video      of a song that' s called Ayo,
such a beauty, such a grace      in your lovely smiling face.

Oh Helen,      tears are wellin'      because of happiness      that' s how it is
I don' t wanna stress you  -  or possess you - it' s just about a song - why should that be wrong?

It took you ten months to drop a line      writing "sorry, I' ve got no time,
there are so many other things      and every minute my mobile rings".

A song about that friend back in the day who never done a days graft and lived off the bank of mom and dad. Always plenty of money to indulge his party habits and a few more to say the least.
Nearly cost him his life but fortunately it didn’t and eventually learned a valuable lesson. He has his only family now and just hopes they are more sensible than himself in the teenage years.
