A JOURNEY INNTO TRANCE MUSIC

In German there is no distinction between shadow and shade, so thinking about how a shadow sounds, I thought about how shadow/shade feels differently in different times of the year. In summer I seek shadow and enjoy spending time in it, in winter quite the opposite. I tried to express this in my piece with winter taking the first half (it’s winter outside… not too much of a fan as you might deduce from the sounds I chose).

Back to basics:) Only 4 synths here and 2 of them are drum synths! Octrack plays a Lfo:ed Will Steffen vox sample:

He’s also talking about 3 scenarios regarding planet Earth and Climate Change and goes into detail about 3 different paths: 

1. Business as usual 
2. Greener action 
3. Geo engineering pathway.

Nearly 15 minutes long:) Recorded in one take so the «song» structure is heavily improvised. Experimental and minimal at the same time. Only 16 bit wav. this time, recommend listening on headphones!

Nakamura Kusatao was born in Xiamen (China) in 1901 and moved to Japan in 1904.

He was influenced by contemporary Western philosophy, mostly Friedrich Nietzsche, and his poetry focused on themes of life and humanity. Together with Shuson Kato and Ishida Hakyo, Nakamura Kusatao was a member of the “Human Exploration School”, a group of poets who used haiku to explore and highlight "how human beings should live".

Nakamura Kusatao launched the magazine Banryoku in 1946, and his major collections include Chōshi, Hi no shima, Biden, and Toki.
