‘River’ was written on a weekend, as I continuously experimented with the main sample, I found online and instantly liked. I wanted to create a different drop than usual, so I went for that percussive groove, which I think sets an interesting vibe for the track. For the second break, I just had to arrange things properly and for the second drop, I had to add that formant - shifted ambiance to keep things interesting. All in all, I wanted to make a simple and straightforward tune and that’s what ‘River’ is all about!

Riscape - Neverever

With ‘Lqueur’, I wanted to create a summer tune, sunny and straightforward.  The idea revolves around a main vocal sample I chopped for the drops. Adding a Spanish guitar and vocal ambiance, I strived to create the proper setting for the track to evolve. The high-pitched feminine vocal and the second drop lead synth were just the icing on the cake. Hope you enjoy 'Lqueur' as much as I do! 🍹🥃

I wrote 'Stuck' as I experimented with new ways of using samples creatively. I started by repeating the main sample for the first break and drop.
Adding a vocal on top of the second break, made the track in its current form.
Chopping the main sample for the third part of the drop completed the idea.
The song has a real Valentine’s Day vibe imo, and that's why I decided to put it out on that special day.

Stuck (Extended Mix)

With a classical piano training background at Chalandri's National Conservatory (A' Anotera / B' Solfège) and a 1st Prize at XON’s Panhellenic Piano Competition (2007), Athens-based musician John Rigas turned to electronic music production, after attending a Martin Garrix show at Paradise Club Mykonos (2015). With studies at SAE Athens, under the guidance of the acclaimed Greek DJ Sparky T (2016) and at Grey Studios Athens, under the influence of Armada Music producer HitTheBass (2017), John released his first track as Riscape in 2020, the electrifying ‘Persistence’ (Not Giving Up). 
In the summer of 2021, Riscape was officially part of the up-and-coming Dutch record label Mystery Freedom Records (@mysteryfreedom). His first releases with the label include the summer track 'The Groove Is Coming' and the expressive tune 'Can't Resist You'. In 2023 he released his first EP 'Unity' and in 2024 his second EP, 'Two x S'. 

As Riscape, John also hosts the radio show 'Riscape Reality Radio' (@risc-real), in which he blends his favorite dance tunes with his own music.

Riscape's tunes have been featured in several acclaimed Spotify playlists, including Correr (EDM Joy), Heavy Rotation (Sirup Music) and Dance Top Hits (Spinnin' Records). They have also received radio and blog support, as well as praise from world-renowned electronic music producers/DJs.
