Remix of brilliant Ugandan Artist Geoffrey Oryema.  I had made a bootleg remix of this song in 2001 and when Louie Vega started playing it, my friends Mike Fu Fresco and Jojo Flores at Gotsoul Records managed to get us the parts and license a bunch of remixes.   Trevor Walker and I made this remix with the parts we got, and we had our friend Stephane Vera (Teknostep) play some Rhodes on it... This version never came out but it's my favorite... Enjoy!

Came across this track the other day and it took me back to 2007, hard to believe it's been ten years... Made this with my man Stephane Lefrancois when we were both living in Ottawa, Kind Sunshine was an amazing band run by Marc Shapiro out of Toronto... it featured a slew of amazing musicians over the years... Felt so blessed to get to make this mix with my homie Steflef and it never got released though I have played it at countless parties over the years...  I got in touch with Marc whom I came across again recently at Unity Hip Hop Festival in TO last summer and he gave me the blessing to give it away, so here you are!

So honored to get to be a aprt of the remixes for Bardo (Andrew McPherson - Eccodek)'s new project... This song hit me hard when I first heard it...  It's a bittersweet ironic testament to the art we make.  To playing for 4 walls and the bartender... To devoting your life to an artform that has changed so much in the last 15 years... Really spoke to my soul...  Did cuts on this one which is rare and a throwback for me... Hope you dig...

Fell upon the amazing Eivør Pálsdóttir and this incredible performance which you can watch on youtube here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpiFmZLICgM along with 3.5 Million other people who have watched this.   Chopped it up so I could play it, added a really old-school hip hop beat, pretty minimal really what I did to it, but the result's like nothing I have ever heard before and it gets great reactions when I play it out... Hope you dig!

Everyone loves the Sun… some love the Moon too! A few Moonlighting DJ/ Producers, inspired by the original Moon People album (released June 2012) set out to take the songs for another turn in space.

Here we have Ancient Astronauts remixing the title song featuring The Real Live Show & Kathrin deBoer (Belleruche) into a straight ahead Hip-Hop groover.  Los Angeles producer Yukicito  took "Mirage" deeper in the desert over to Mauritania & Nigeria with nice live horns, while Canadian house producer Rise Ashen follows up with 2 deep 4 to the floor remixes of "Peaceful Island Life"  for the late night. Also included are the Ancient Astronauts instrumental and a special bonus instrumental version of "Alekuban" from the album. Enjoy!
