This remix was originally commissioned to "not sound like a remix."  They wanted it to sound a little thicker and to add a twist to it somehow.  The twist came by squeezing a few drops of jazzy juice from the tender tenor saxophone of John Juster, LA house music legend.  To see John slink around a dance floor is one thing, but to hear him become the panther is quite another.

This bootleg started out as a remix of "Let It Go" for our good friends Rise Ashen and Tara Porter.  Already having enough mixes for their release, this one snuck out the back door to begin slinking the streets with a message that it whispers to each passerby who dares to listen.

Love Every Day  (NRNFH Bootleg)

A bootleg mix of Brittany Howard's bonus track from the soundtrack of the movie "Joy" with Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper.  Nothing feels as good as feeling free, and the vibe in the original song proved it by inspiring this mix.

A reworked, re-edited, reimagined take on MFSB's "Love is the Message" featuring the vocal prowess of Jason Jinx from his release "Bring Back that Feeling."  This is elbow music at it's finest, the kind of jam that you don't dare put on your toast because it tastes so good on the dance floor.

Bring Back the Love (NRNFH Bootleg)

An unreleased gem featuring the legendary spoken word vocalist Rob Wilson, the voice behind Eddie Amador's iconic classic "House Music."  Originally recorded by for an Original release, this vocal never saw the light of day, so now it thrives and delights in the night, as a drop within an ocean of undiscovered music.

This was an unreleased remix that was rejected by a Commune of Manatees for reasons unknown, and they didn't even say thank you, which was not only weird but also meant, as a result, the work must be released, to grow a life of its own as it bounds through time, unbounded by the acceptance of anyone else.  Could this be a real release one day..."I Can Dream."

I Can Dream (NRNFH Bootleg)

The most clever bootleg of the bunch, this tune has layers of intention baked in, a lasagna of dance floor influence if you will.  What layers you ask?  The vocal is "Ebony and Ivory" from Paul and Stevie, which is laid over the David Harness remix of "Black Music" by Franky Boissy which features Roland Clark - on top of all that, there's an introduction  and breakdown by Fatcamp from a song called "Where the Rainbow Ends."  This one requires a dance floor doctor to dissect it.

Cutting my ravers teeth in the middle of a P.L.U.R. world I fell in love with The Chem's back in the 90's.  When their latest album dropped, I have to admit I was excited...until I listened through to the whole thing and discovered it was a bit more artistic than I was hoping.  With that being said, I did find about 30 seconds of unmitigated funk within the song "No Reason" that simply had to have something done with it.  We took it into the shop, chopped off the bumpers, stripped down the paint and put on a fresh coat of funky vocals, compliments of the timeless and delicious diva, Loleatta Holloway.  Dang this is gritty!!!

So proud to be presenting this amazing track I had the pleasure of remixing for the incredible Toronto indie musicians LAL (Rosina Kazi and Nick Murr).... Over the last 20 years I have had the pleasure of opening up and playing along side these amazing cats and I was so stoked to collaborate with them on this.   They are truly one of Canada's unsung heroes of soulful deep eclectic club music... Andy Roberts from Mixed Signals Music Toronto released this one in 2013 and I am super stoked he has allowed me to get it back out there now...  Thanks Andy! Enjoy!

Came across this track the other day and it took me back to 2007, hard to believe it's been ten years... Made this with my man Stephane Lefrancois when we were both living in Ottawa, Kind Sunshine was an amazing band run by Marc Shapiro out of Toronto... it featured a slew of amazing musicians over the years... Felt so blessed to get to make this mix with my homie Steflef and it never got released though I have played it at countless parties over the years...  I got in touch with Marc whom I came across again recently at Unity Hip Hop Festival in TO last summer and he gave me the blessing to give it away, so here you are!

So honored to get to be a aprt of the remixes for Bardo (Andrew McPherson - Eccodek)'s new project... This song hit me hard when I first heard it...  It's a bittersweet ironic testament to the art we make.  To playing for 4 walls and the bartender... To devoting your life to an artform that has changed so much in the last 15 years... Really spoke to my soul...  Did cuts on this one which is rare and a throwback for me... Hope you dig...

Chopped it up so I could play it, added a really old-school hip hop beat, pretty minimal really what I did to it, but the result's like nothing I have ever heard before and it gets great reactions when I play it out... Everyone loves the Sun… some love the Moon too! A few Moonlighting DJ/ Producers, inspired by the original Moon People album (released June 2012) set out to take the songs for another turn in space.

Here we have Ancient Astronauts remixing the title song featuring The Real Live Show & Kathrin deBoer (Belleruche) into a straight ahead Hip-Hop groover.  Los Angeles producer Yukicito  took "Mirage" deeper in the desert over to Mauritania & Nigeria with nice live horns, while Canadian house producer Rise Ashen follows up with 2 deep 4 to the floor remixes of "Peaceful Island Life"  for the late night.
