The mix comes from the fresh talent of the Moscow’s rave scene - Vouie Lega. The man has co founded together with his friends a community called Club Kids where they throw parties in various event spaces of the capital, often under the name Frequencies. Vouie Lega is a versatile DJ and has vast knowledge raging from deep house classics from USA to analog hardware techno shows. The musician is also very much interested in the complex practices of sound design for theatre&film and it’s practitioners including Todd Sines, Christian Vogel, Ibrahim Alfa Jnr, just to name a few, which certainly brings that ‘engineering of quality’ to his music. He has immersed himself into the art of music production and now is frequently playing live, it was a pleasure to see him going with proper full on techno consisting only of his material so it is definitely right to pay close attention to the sound output of this artist now and in the future.

Emile is admired by his peers for his unwavering support of electronic music as an artist, DJ and promoter. His productions have been supported by luminaries like DJ Stingray, Helena Hauff, Dave Clarke, Surgeon, Rødhåd, Jane Fitz and Solid Blake and have been aired on BBC Radio 1’s flagship Essential Mix, BBC Radio 6, Rinse FM, Threads, NTS and the Resident Advisor Podcast. Before the Curfew is a series of music podcasts that emerged in 2022 after the reopening of the club following the liberation of the Kyiv region. All recordings presented in this series take place before midnight before the curfew begins. Before the Curfew offers a vibrant snapshot of the Ukrainian music scene amidst challenging times, celebrating resilience, creativity, and unity through music.

When OK EG enters Varden it’s 8:30PM on Sunday. It’s been a slow and steady build during the day, much slower than the day before, people have been given time to rest properly from a late night on Saturday. This is the journey. The ebb and flow of the forest. It’s their job to get the crowd going for the last couple of interval sprints. They are well rested and ready.

OK EG’s expansive sound is deep and diverse. Their compositions display a range that shifts between delicate, textural soundscapes, and spiralling, mesmerizing, mind-trip techno.

They first went to Monument festival in 2024, taking a break from a residency at EMS in Stockholm to spend a weekend in the forest. They brought a field recorder with them and spent time on the riverbank recording the sound of stones and water.

And listen to this level of dedication; while preparing for their live set in 2025, they used those recordings to write a closing track called Monument Stone. This is what they said about it. ”In the moment of performing it at the festival, we felt that everything came together. The crowd, the music and the site connected and it happened just as we’d imagined it.”

During their set day turns to dusk. We transition together, ready for the night - the sound, nature, forest and lights. Hand in hand.
