The original song by Manu Chao was one of my first musical discoveries and I still listen to it today. I wanted to give the lyrics a different emotional environment, thus completely revamping all the instrumental elements.

About Manu Chao
Manu Chao is a spanish-french composer and singer. Originally from Spain his grandfather was sentenced to death by the spanish franquist regime and his family then emigrated to Paris.

With friends and his brother Antoine Chao, he first founded the band Mano Negra. Breaking up in 1995 he then pursued a solo career. He won several world music awards.

Nasca is an electronic music composer & live performer based in Paris. With a strong South American influence, where he spent a large part of his life, he started creating music in 2007. He also co-organizes the Pic du Son festival (France).

Over the years, Nasca has collaborated with several labels and collectives among them Plaisirs Sonores, Cafe de Anatolia, Underzone and Cosmovision.

Mi versión de ‘El Diablo’ de Compay Quinto, lanzado originalmente en 1968. La canción mezcla estilos como psicodélico, guaracha, son, guajira y rumba. Mantuve el espíritu original pero le añadí un groove más fuerte para acercarlo a las vibras de hoy. Perfecto para esos momentos de pura energia o simplemente para dejarse llevar, ya sea sumergiéndote en los ricos ritmos de la Cumbia psicodélica o dejando que la música te lleve a un viaje más allá de lo usual.

My take on ‘El Diablo’ by Compay Quinto, originally released in 1968. The track blends styles like Psychedelic, Guaracha, Son, Guajira, and Rumba. I kept the original spirit but added a stronger groove to bring it closer to today’s vibe. Perfect for those late-night moments or just vibing out, whether you’re sinking into the rich rhythms of the Psychedelic Cumbia or letting the music take you on a journey beyond the usual.
