You Helped Me Carry On

The follow up CD to ColdtrainBlues first highly acclaimed release The Party Train ColdtrainBlues, was an idea conceived by CEO of  Rizing Sun Records Earl J Foster Jr., who wrote most of the songs and produced their first CD The Party Train. The group Built around guitarist Jeffery Colbert, who has since left the group. Most of the songs were written arranged and performed by Earl J Foster Jr., along with Jeffrey Colbert,  The was reconstituted with new members, and that group can be heard on this new CD. Living Blues World, wrote an outstanding review of the first CD, The Party Train, so after the completion of the new CD, Funkin’ Da Blues  was released, this CD was also reviewed by the same magazine, a leading publication in the blues genre field, and again receive wonderful reviews. ColdtrainBlues new guitarist Vincent LeBuave joined the group, along with Joseph Leavy, and the rest of the ColdtrainBlues crew, the last song on the CD We Love Funkin' Da Blues, marked the appearance, of a gaggle of great blues guitarists, Doug Scott, Raymond Bailey, and Zaindre Yarborough. Also appearing on this CD is the great David T. Walker on the tune Making Me Feel.

Baby Feet - Tribe

This album was a true labor of love, recorded by a group of musicians who are not only artists but good friends.    Although the grooves will make your heads bob, and your feet tap, the lyrics are not throw away mindless pap or esoteric psycho-babble, but thought-provoking themes that groove. The music deals with today's basic truths, love lost, love found, self-destruction. Some of the songs have a humorous side, some just good fun. The best thing I can say about this album is that it is fresh, in a "NouveauRetroPop", kind of way. What exactly is "NouveauRetroPop"? That's the way we describe our music. Imagine if you will some of the great soul bands of the '70s and '80s, recorded with state of the art equipment, with the drummer triggering outrageous samples, killer effects, a badass guitarist, who is equally comfortable with funk, pop, or rock, a bassist who has recorded and played with some of the greatest names in music, throw in a little "Pain", Shampén that is, and you've got "NouveauRetroPop".

As an artist who has had experience with major labels such as ABC-Dunhill and Farr Records, as well as production credits with MGM, I decided to create my own label. Inspired by my time living and working in Japan, I named it Rising Sun Records, aka Rizing Sun Records.
