http://rizzrecords.com - Lime was the brainchild of Catherine Synnerdahl (formerly Gary) & Dave Reynolds. Cath & Dave had been honing their talents for years first as the rhythm section in Wrecking Crew & then in Mother Hubbard. At the end of Mother Hubbard and a brief break they decided to create their own band taking on the songwriting duties and in so doing switching to guitars and vocals. Eventually finding the right rhythm section in Dave Peck (Othermind, Bob Sledge) & Andreas Lanz (Damnation, Christ Art Museum) Lime was born in 1997. They played extensively throughout Sydney between 97-99 and often shared bill's with 'Othermind' & 'Guilding the Lily'. This EP was their only release although a whole albums worth of material was recorded at the time. The first track Puppyphat received good airplay on JJJ Radio at the time of it's release. Cath's lyrical turn of phrase and the wonderful pop tinged guitar rock interplay between Cath & Dave is sublime. Wonderful playing by the rhythm section only adds to the listening pleasure.

Max Smidt has been a part of the Sydney music scene for over twenty years. Starting out as a ferocious hard rockin' drummer through the 90's before picking up the guitar and starting to write his own material and singing out front of Mach 1. Axiomatic is Max's second solo album and is a smooth blend of OZ hard rock, dirty blues & tasty folk/Pop. Max encompasses all the styles he loves on this 10 track set with his gritty rock vocals reminiscent of Stevie Wright. Richly produced by Syd Green (Mantissa, Iota, Guilding The Lily, Christ Art Museum) and with guests Martin Carr, Richard Madden, Brian Cachia, Andrew Webb & Cameron Potts this album is well worth a listen.

It offers a small insight into one of the many undercurrents of music that move through a city or scene at any given place in time. For the first time since their original releases, Rizz Records offers all of their combined output to listen and purchase at your leisure. Rizz Records has just launched the vinyl side of the label with 4 titles now available through our website.
