On Sunday 9.11.2022 I went out to do a little recording. I decided to try to drop my Aqua Beat Hydrophone in the little harbour in Heljsminde close to where I live. The recording was done very close to a canal connecting an inlet/lake with fresh water to the ocean. I saw several mussels attached to the pier, and I believe they are responsible for the majority of sounds...
I dumped the hydrophone on the bottom, and about one minute in, you can hear someone examining the microphone up close - probably a beach crab.

Anthill

Two rigs simultaneously recording the same dawn within the same landscape, located about half a kilometre apart. The beautiful calls of a Pied Butcherbird can be heard from each location. Its first two sequences of calls are nearer to the first location (Perspective 1), in the background of a flurry of foreground bird activity. Its third sequence of calls are very near to the second location (Perspective 2), within a rather different soundscape mood. But all three sequences are heard from both locations, either as distant or as near.

Night Listening means sitting, through the night, in a chosen location, as still and quiet as possible, often for many hours, absorbed in purely listening, while recording. This is an excerpt from a recent Night Listening. It involves three Brushtail Possums, and one Red Fox. The responses of the Possums to the barking of the Fox are very interesting. (Don't start with the volume raised to more than 50 to 60 per cent: some of the fox barks are quite close and loud.)

Recorded on the land of the Kaurna people.
