This song is based on an entry in one of my travel journals.  A few years back I took a business trip to Germany to attend a NATO Security Conference and visit a number of US military bases there.  During that stay I also got to enjoy some of the beauty and old-world charm of some of the small towns there. Drove through the Black Forest regions and enjoyed some great wine from he area.

Several years ago, I was on a business trip to Nairobi.  A couple of weeks later the attack on the Westgate mall happened.  At the time I was in the process of writing an espionage novel that took place throughout the world and parts of Kenya.  When I returned from that trip, I added a chapter that described that attack and how an American CIA agent who happened to be in that mall during the attack helped save a group of innocent children and parents who were trapped there. A Ceiling Fan Mind
