DeMalebysse  - have gone back to being a studio project who write and play Trad folk music - with a rich catalogue of fiddle based jigs, rants and reels thrown into the pot, bringing a 21st century edge to some of the oldest songs surviving from the dark ages of Old England. 

I think the current is more important than the past, but I'll give a very brief bio.

Our debut gig in 2013 was also (again) far from the norm. 
Bypassing the standard format of playing countless unpaid local live support gigs to unrelated bands, in backrooms of pubs, to uninterested punters, in a vain attempt to gain some recognition. We somehow managed to fast forwarded ourselves straight onto the main stage of a high profile festival in Hertfordshire. 

With one album already under our belt (released April 2014) we are currently working on our new one and a couple of ep releases with Seth Lakeman / The Levellers / Steeleye Span (amongst many others) producer - Mark Ellis of Propagation House Studios in Cornwall.

NEW ALBUM: CULTURAL HEGEMONY
The aesthetic shift toward expressionism initially prompted by the social, cultural and psychological repercussions of the Industrial revolution has echoed through current trends of Globalization.  In the wake of destroyed local traditions and cultures, urban living invariably brings to bear profound feelings of alienation, loneliness, and skepticism about the true relationship between oneself and nature. These are the underliying dilemmas New Liberation explores through the artistic tropes of imperfection, malfunction, and error. Examining the disintegration of systems and ideals visual in the social landscape and exploring on a personal level the inner self within this tumultuous context.


 Under the influence of Kantian introspective ideas, Nietzschean pessimism and Existentialist doubts in tune with rapid developments in psychoanalysis, New Liberation has grasped the hidden spirit of modernity and post-modernity by privileging the Subjective over the Objective, Feelings over Reason and facilitated it as the Return of the Repressed. For New Liberation, art is not merely an act of reproducing nature, but a passionate reaction to the visible in a uniquely personalized manner.
