As a songwriter sometimes a song creeps up on you from your youth and connects with the most honest of places. It can infect you for hours, days, even months. I don’t think there are too many things I relate to more now-a-days than these words sang so truthfully in this classic. Enjoy my rendition of ‘Check It Out’.

Silent Night

DAGGER

One of the most influential late 80s recording for me constructed mainly from samples. Genius work and a lot of effort put in this translated in a Grammy nomination in 1989. 
I always wanted to prolong the main theme and turn down the testosterone on the samples so I can use it today in 2013. I have used a couple of loops from the original and then overdubbed everything else as well as recreating a few sampling parts from scratch.
Enjoy and keep the funk alive.
