Alfred Spellman and Billy Corben are the duo behind the Miami-based movie studio rakontur. The two are perhaps best known for their 2006 documentary, "Cocaine Cowboys," which recounted the early-1980s South Florida drug wars. Spellman and Corben boast a string of successes and a cult following. And they’ve redefined the Hollywood business model with their unique approach to filmmaking. They share their trade secrets with host Roben Farzad. They are also joined by Robert “Bobby Black Tuna” Platshorn — America’s longest imprisoned nonviolent marijuana offender. Platshorn served a 30-year sentence for smuggling pot into Florida. No surprise that he was once the subject of a rakontur documentary.
