Killer POV was a GeekNation podcast that ran from 2012 to 2017 and was hosted by Robert Galluzzo (FEARnet), Elric Kane (Inside Horror), and Rebekah McKendry (Fangoria) where the trio talked all things horror, and welcoming various guests from the horror industry to talk about their experiences in filmmaking. The show morphed into the popular podcast "Shock Waves" in February of 2017.

In episode 3 of Killer POV, hosts Elric Kane (Inside Horror), Rebekah McKendry (Fangoria) and Rob Galluzzo (FEARnet, Icons Of Fright) discuss the latest genre films they’ve seen which include S-VHS (aka V/H/S/2), the upcoming Fangoria release Inhuman Resources, the obscure Yugoslavian horror film Leptirica, Birdemic 2 and Larry Cohen’s cult classic It’s Alive trilogy. They are then joined by director Mike Mendez (The Gravedancers, The Convent) to discuss his latest feature Big Ass Spider, which is premiering at SXSW. Other topics tackled include the controversy around whether Irreversible and other similar French Extreme cinema are actually horror films and the group also gives their thoughts on the latest horror news such as The Conjuring trailer debut and the casting of Kathy Bates to American Horror Story Season 3.

Killer POV Episode 3 - Mike Mendez and His Big Ass Spider

In episode 4 of Killer POV, hosts Elric Kane (Inside Horror), Rebekah McKendry (Fangoria) and Rob Galluzzo (FEARnet, Icons Of Fright) discuss the latest genre films they’ve seen which include weird reincarnation horror films and the much anticipated pilot for A & E’s ‘Bates Motel’. The team then switch their focus to the topic of cult films and which of their favorites obscure horror films are deserving of cult status. Joining in on the discussion is the man behind one of the great cult films, Roy Frumkes the writer /producer of the hobo-splatter epic ‘Street Trash’. Roy discusses the origins of the film, it’s outrageous gore effects and the inventive marketing of 80’s horror films. The crew also discuss Roy’s long spanning ‘Document of the Dead’ which follows the making of George A. Romero’s classic ‘Dawn of the Dead’ and it’s lasting impact on the genre.

In episode 5 of Killer POV, hosts Rebekah McKendry (Fangoria), Elric Kane (Inside Horror) and Rob G (FEARnet, Icons Of Fright) discuss the week in horror. Rob G was on hand at the Monster Mania convention in Cherry Hill, NJ with FEARnet this past weekend and reports on that event. Rebekah checked out The Possession, while Elric feasted on the campy cult classic Blood Diner which opened up the conversation to “so bad they’re good” cult classics. Tales From The Crypt is also part of this week’s discussion before the trio welcome special guest Jeff Gross, the producer of Birdemic 2: The Resurrection to join them and elaborate on what it was like working with writer/director James Nguyen and making a sequel to a legitimate cult classic movie. (The Crow, Leatherface) The gang dive right into the discussion, first with some thoughts on recent TV including ‘Black Mirror,’ ‘Salem,’ ‘Game Of Thrones’ and ‘Hannibal.’ All 3 hosts revisited Brian Yuzna’s ‘Society’ which just got a Blu-ray release from Arrow. Rob celebrated the 40th anniversary of ‘Jaws.’ Bekah saw ‘What We Do In The Shadows’ again and Elric checked out ‘The Outing (aka The Lamp)’ and ‘Jurassic World.’ Then the entire gang go through several subjects including podcasts that David has been checking out, revisiting old genre films with a fresh perspective, what we’ve been reading genre-wise lately, the process of re-writing, ‘The Hills Run Red,’ ‘Johnny Mad Dog’ and much, much more.
