Racing down the streets in the sunlight.
We are just kids feeling good, playing our life.
We are out to play and we run around.
Chasing our friends while we shout so loud.
Emma is so cute, the boys in love with her.

„Hey, too close! Don't you throw the ball from there! 
Whoa, that was not fair! I won't play any more with you!
Why you are always so mean? Go away!
I play with someone else!“

Michael likes to show his strength today.
Lucy is so pretty and she can play.
Marty looks so sad, oh no, what a day!
Finn is mad. I don't like him this way.
Snowball fight in the street, no one can beat me.
Rick's the best we all want him in our team.

We all want to play hide and seek.

The president and his adviser can now no more get along,
spreading secrets and dirt, feeling very strong.
The president plays king, some don't wanna play.
The adviser admits he has gone too far, 
but most people now know where we are.
The president is angry: „All obey!“
But many are waiting eagerly for the day,
when the old king finally has gone away.

This piece started again, as often is the case, with me experimenting on the organ. My daughter was intrigued with it when she heard me playing with it, and said it has film noir vibes, which influenced the rest of the composition as it gave me a target, a clear vision of where it was going.

Another version will come, hopefully soon, as a collaboration with some of my friends whom you may already be familiar with from other songs on my channel, which will replace some of the virtual instruments you will hear in this demo version with real instruments, namely, drums and bass, and probably add some additional surprises.

Releasing this version was not in my plans, but after hearing from three separate people that this version should not change, it is done, I have decided to release this one separately from the coming collaboration, so you can hear it exactly as I originally imagined it. Of course, I fully expect the collaboration will be better still, as it always is when bringing multiple talents together, instead of just me in an echo chamber.

After completing my doctorate in composition in 1979 from UNT, I took 30 years off from composing to join the computer software revolution as a software engineer.  In 2010 I began composing again and have not stopped. So, I find myself beginning (restarting?) a composition career rather late in life...but that's OK.  Most of the works posted here were written since 2010.
