Through the power of freedom and exploration of Jazz, Primal Overdrive expresses emotions present in each of us. It does so by way of  improvisation that borders on free form with a few sign posts to guide the way. The perceptions created by the music are diverse, yet those perceptions all stem from a common element, emotion. We believe that musical interaction and expression, we may better understand ourselves. Featured at Hallwalls, Orlando Norman -WBFO Radio-Live-Featured as an international Jazz group.

Primal Overdrive

This is a recording of my father (Robert J. Smith) at 18 years old with the Clarence Central Senior High School Band under the direction of Norbert J. Buskey.  The recording was done in April of 1968.  The recording was featured on a very special album entiled Celebration.  Doc Severinson was commisioned along with other musical greats such as Harvey Phillips, Manny Albam, Warren Benson and Vaclav Nelhybel to work with the nationally renound Concert Band and Stage Band.  The Achievements of this group are far to many to list.  
I will be posting More with Doc Severinson and the Stage Band.
